Will Republicans let Eric Holder get away with murder?
Coach is Right ^ | 1/19/2012 | Doug Book

When Eric Holder ordered Justice Department Inspector General Cynthia Schnedar to begin an investigation of possible wrongdoing in Operation Fast and Furious it was with just one purpose in mind—enable the Attorney General and other DOJ officials to refuse to answer questions or provide documentation concerning the “gunwalking” debacle because there is an “ongoing investigation.”

It’s a neat little legal trick the Obama Regime has pulled on more than one occasion.

But although Holder used this dodge of his own creation to keep congressional committee members at bay for nearly a year, it appears the OIG report is just about ready to make its long overdue appearance.

For Holder and his DOJ minions have telegraphed the fact that they might already have, to put it discreetly, “been privy” to information contained in the document.

And the reason this is a safe bet is that “…three of the prime Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms players in the Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal have been relieved of their duties.” (1)

Two of the three, William Hoover, former Deputy Director of the ATF and Mark Chait, former Assistant Director of Field Operations had already been shuffled into new positions some months ago.

William McMahon, former Deputy Assistant Director of Field Operations had not been part of that occupational shell game, but now joins Chait and Hoover on the sidelines, probably awaiting the final publication of the report which will publically determine their ultimate fate.

That Holder was no doubt given advance notice of Schnedar’s findings is highly unethical, but certainly not surprising.

The two have been friends and work-mates for many years and are, of course, fellow leftists.

The real questions involve what will happen now! Will the OIG report come out immediately prior to Eric Holder’s February 2nd appearance before Issa...

I think the odds are heavily in favor that they will.

So far, the dribbles haven’t matched the crimes. How long will this go on, and will justice ever be served? Your guess is as good as anyone’s.

Ping.

Something similar happened under Clinton. His Justice Department authorized an independent prosecutor to investigate his sex life, but his Chinese money connections were supposedly “under investigation” by Justice and consequently off limits to congressional inquiry. After GW Bush came into office, it all just faded away down the memory hole.

Bush thought that by turning the page on all Bill Clintons transgressions it would help get the dems to work with him.
We all know how that turned out.

Democrats and their lap dogs in the press will protect Holder. Murder's nothing compared to Newt having an affair..

Holder is committed to the ideology of his President and his race. It doen't matter the consequences. This F&F debacle would have been handled differently had Holder and his people had the reasonable expection that victims of this effort would be black. All else to them, yes I said "them", is meaningless. Whitey gets payback.

"Will Republicans let Eric Holder get away with murder?"

Rhetorical question, I assume.

Gutless GOP would let Holder get away with it even if he did it live, on camera during American Idle.. err, Idol, and then ate the corpse.

Sadly, the law only applies to the common citizen, not those in politics who do the bidding of the power elite. Absence of equal and fair enforcement of the rule of law is tyranny. Can anyone today truthfully argue that we are not already under tyranny?

And most importantly, will Republicans FALL for such drivel, or more to the point, consider it the most politically expedient course?

That sounds like what spineless Republican curs would do.

Does Holder hope that his “the ATF is responsible, not we really IMPORTANT people at DOJ” pump priming ... will be enough to convince Republican committee members that the ATF firings over Fast and Furious should suffice, ...

He might and they might but Issa isn't going to leave it at that.

No, Bush let Clinton skate because they work on the same team.

Issa and Gowdy are your incoming AG / Deputy AG. They will spike his a$$ to the wall and feed body parts to associates. Expect the OIG report (2/1/12 doc dump) to contain 11,763 pages, without a single reference to one Eric Holder.
Sandy Adams will relentlessly push for sentencing.
