Rick Santorum should be president for three basic but important reasons. First, his policies are sound. His economic recovery plan includes a reduction of federal non-defense discretionary spending to 2008 levels by enacting across the board spending cuts. He has called for and pledged to sign into law the repeal of ObamaCare and to replace it with market based healthcare innovation and competitive, market based solutions that will leave healthcare choices where they belong…. between doctors and their patients. Santorum has called for a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution and a capping of government spending to 18% of GDP.

The second reason to support Santorum is the stability of his personal life. His commitment to his wife and family as a husband and father reveals a man of character who is willing to keep his word. You can’t be pro-family when your family is in disarray.

According to this writer, Santorum’s Christianity and faithfulness as a family man are top reasons to vote for him. It was simply pointed out that the 2 worst presidents in our country’s history fit those criteria.
He didn’t say Obama was a Christian; he said he has a stable marriage and kids, Jimmy Carter was the one who ran as a ‘strong Christian.’ And look where THAT got us.
Perhaps...perhaps not. Either way, he wiped that out entirely on his own when he couldn't keep his "slick willie" to himself. Those who can be so easily compromised, can just as easily sell out their principles become nothing more than a deeply flawed politiican working against everything they once stood for.
LOL! Lest you forget, we’re supposed to IGNORE all those nasty details and remember that he invoked “Reagan” three or four times in his last speech!
LOL! The Newties are sounding more like Ronulans every day! All you need to do is throw in the words “CONSTITUTION” and “ONLY ONE” a few times and your in like Flint!
And the best president (Coolidge) had the same traits.
And one of the worst ever (Buchanan), did not, and in fact was the only unmarried president.
The point being, having a stable family is an asset. It doesn’t guarantee that the president will be good (ie, don’t elect democrats), but it isn’t a detriment. It’s a substantial asset.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
He does, and he's not. And this isn't some earlier statement that he has since retracted either. It is actually part of his Contract With America-21st Century. It is part of his campaign platform.
It goes far beyond making a stupid move. It really brings into question his judgment especially when it comes to leadership. At the time that Newt got all cozy with Pelosi, she was engaging in one of the worst scorched earth policies against conservatives that this nation has ever witnessed. As Speaker, she literally shut Republicans out of the legislative process. She completely abandoned civil discourse and waged a continuous rhetorical attack against the Republican minority, and especially against the TEA Party patriots. The vileness of her words against conservatives was reprehensible. And it was during this time that Newt thought it would be a good idea and join forces with her to attack the one thing that boost our economy the most - cheap energy.
Newt shouldn't be in a position of apologizing (but only after he was made to realize it would hurt his election chances). Newt should have shown conviction then and made the decision not to validate the words of the enemy.

Newt Gingrich could be pimpin' for Obama, and you still could not be dissuaded from voting for him. Why is that?
Lol, teaming up with Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Joe Lieberman, and Arlen Specter all looks very horrible on Santorum, no matter how you might try to rationalize it.
Newt isn’t a lobbyist nor has he been—if you have facts to prove that, show them.

Whether Rick Santorum SHOULD be President is irrelevant.
At least for now, in order to BECOME President, one first has to be ELECTED.
40% of the voters, at most, are conservatives. We have yet to find a candidate who can hold that 40% (and get them all to vote), and pull the next 11% needed to win from the mass of mind-numbed idiots who are intoxicated by infotainment and celebrities.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, Rick Santorum is the LEAST likely of all the major candidates to pull that off.

Must be nice to be in their inner circle. I don't think they've shared those endorsements with anyone else.
