Perry,Iowa After witnessing the Perry rally in Perry, Iowa, I have a sudden urge to rush out, purchase a firearm, and start rearing eagles. And if it had that effect on me, you know it was potent stuff.
The Perry rally at the HotelPattee was far, far nicer than the Santorum rally. Santorum stood on the stairs and addressed a tepid crowd of people without amplification, only four of whom were holding signs, while someone vacuumed in the background. Perry had a country music performer entertaining crowds in a nice room that Santorum seemed unaware was part of the building. The crowd was large and energetic. They shouted, Amen! and waved flocks of Perry signs. They interrupted him with tumultuous laughter and applause.
...It was all so aggressively, enthusiastically appealing to all patriotic impulses as to be very nearly cynical. Here I am! Send me! Perry volunteered, in the words of the prophet. The crowd went wild. You couldnt stand there unmoved as two governors, two veterans, a country singer, and RickPerry, with tears in his eyes, begged you in front of a mural with grain on it to have my back tomorrow at the caucuses, and Ill have your back the next four years in Washington!
You felt that it might be almost cruel to send this man to Washington, a place he so clearly hated. But he had to go, because Isaiah had said so. Next I was expecting a yellow SupportThe Troops bumper sticker to emerge from the wings shouting, I, too, endorse Rick Perry! as several eagles flew overhead in formation and someone drilled down into the middle of the assembly to release a flood of oil and Jesus glanced down from the sky and nodded a manly nod, as though he approved....

C-SPAN:Rick Perry Rally
I was undecided for a long time, but I’m solidly in the Perry camp now. Watching that rally yesterday moved me to tears. This is clearly a true man of God who loves his family, loves our country, and has the right plan and proven track record for addressing our nation’s problems. If the GOP settles on a RINO flip-flopping wimp like Romney over Perry, then we deserve what we’re gonna get.
The last time a “moderate” won the presidency on the GOP side was Richard Nixon in 72, and that was mainly cause McGovern was so far left.I know George HW was a moderate too, but he ran as a Reagan conservative when he won in 88. It’s proven election after election that the RINO/moderate wimp always loses, yet the morons running the GOP keep shoveling us these crap candidates every election cycle, expecting us to forget all their past failures.
Bottom line-Romney winning the nomination virtually guarantees us 4 more years of Obozo, cause like McCain he wont fight, and there will be zero passion from the GOP base to fight for him. Obama will tear him to shreds just by running commercials of Romney debating himself with his numerous positions over the years-all on video. And who of us would really want to defend that? With my Dem friends already, I have to admit that “yeah you’re right, Romney’s a flip-flopper.” There’s really nothing I could say to defend the guy from that charge even if I had the inclination to do so (which of course I don’t).
I don’t care what the polls say at this point. I think this race is still very fluid and I’m sticking with Perry as long as he’s in it-and I think he’s in it for the long haul. I’m praying and fasting today for a Perry upset in IA, but even if it’s top 3 or 4, I think that should be enough to carry him forward.
BTW-thanks Cincinatus’ Wife for being such a strong advocate for Perry all these months. I’ve been reading your posts and I have to admire how you’ve stuck by him even during his very dark days. After learning more and more about the true character of this man, I now see why he inspires such loyalty from the people who know him. Our country would be blessed to have him as POTUS.
Thanks txrangerette for stating the facts.
Not welcome in DC is right, CW.
Nail, meet hammer.
This article is meant to make Perry look bad, when in fact, everything in it is the reason we support him and he’s the real deal in this race. And he is what DC desperately requires...not what it wants...so that America can stay the land of the free, the home of the brave.
This morning I see that Rupert Murdoch tells Iowans to support Santorum.
Care to weigh in on THAT one?
Your post is testament to how Rick Perry is going to win the nomination. Thank you for watching, reading and understanding. Even with a strong band of Perry supporters on FR, this has been a tough slog against a concerted effort to remove Perry from contention.
You are right. America will be truly blessed with Rick Perry as our chief executive and commander in chief.
I wonder what she thought of those Roman columns that Obama spoke before at that campaign rally in Denver during the '08 campaign.
I suppose I could do a web search and find out. But that just seems like so much work.
Thank you for expressing your Perry support so well.
You have contrasted him with Romney.
What about Perry vs the other non-Romney candidates caused you to choose Perry?
Her entire schtick is pure mockery.
What is amusing is that she makes the case for Rick Perry...the very last thing she intended.
She writes well.
LOL
Thank you for the post. I’m almost speechless. Almost. I wondered why Cain seems to attempting to reinvigorate his wrecking-ball service. He’s baaack. Governor Perry’s message is exactly what our country needs. He’s distinguished. He can do it. He’s the anti-Obama...which in case people forgot, is what we need. I don’t care about letting Romney have his turn. I don’t care about helping Newt develop a new image. I don’t care about giving the novice, Santorum, a chance to prove himself. I really don’t care about Bachman. And now there is Cain who will be coddled by his fellow talk show hosts, trying to be relevant again. He is the anti-Perry.
I’m hopeful Americans will listen to Governor Perry’s positive message.
If they do listen, they will support him enthusiastically.
Much too much work and not worth it.
This is worth watching:

I posted these truths earlier, and my post was for some unknown reason, removed.
CW, it was the one you replied to, in which you thanked me for stating the facts.
I think it was #42 but it was taken down and only now did I learn of that.
Perry changed from Democrat to Republican just like the state of Texas changed that way. Texas was solid Dem for many decades, by tradition, but eventually became solid Republican. Our state’s history mirrors Perry’s history, politically speaking. I for one am proud of both.
Those who attack Perry for the supposed inability to speak have not bothered to watch his later debate performances, which were very good, nor his interviews nor his townhalls and other appearances on his Iowa bus tour.
People have flocked to his rallies...they have spread the news by word of mouth and have brought their friends and relatives to hear the Governor, after having heard him at other stops or having been told about those events by those who were there.
Perry is the one with a sparkling personality and a sparkling economic record to set alongside Obama’s dismal socialist record.
The outsider who proved it in his own state and will bring it home to DC...time to make the federal government as inconsequential in your lives as possible, time to control spending and to blunt the debt debacle.
Those who claim he cannot speak and that he is a Democrat at heart are speaking falsely about him, for whatever their reasons.
We who know the truth are with him, and so are people of the caliber of Bobby Jindal, Governor Brownback, Marcus Luttrell and Steve Forbes.
The people along his bus tour either have learned the truth or are in the process of learning it.
Thanks for reposting txrangerette.
I can’t understand why your post was pulled.
Good grief. The truth is forbidden now?
PERRYMENTUM IN IOWA !! To hear other campaigns “claim” to have large crowds, from all evidence their “crowds” are largely the media. And some media have abandoned certain candidates for lack of interest by Iowans. The dignity, integrity and manners of Rick Perry has and is catching fire in Iowa. And the blaze will only get hotter as he moves from caucus to primary across the country. Move over, Mitt !! A TRUE CONSERVATIVE AND MAN OF INTEGRITY HAS ARRIVED. PERRY 2012
