America needs Newt
The Daily Caller ^ | 12/30/2011 | Bently Elliott

Posted on 01/01/2012 5:44:05 PM PST by JediJones

Newt Gingrich was an early foot-soldier for Ronald Reagan. He was inspired by Reagan’s charisma, convictions and leadership. He supported Reagan in 1976 and witnessed the attacks by the Ford campaign to tar Ronald Reagan, the conservative, as unstable and dangerous. Sound familiar? Newt was also among the small band of conservatives, led by Jack Kemp in the late 1970s, who saw the tremendous potential for growth in Art Laffer’s supply-side economics. When President Reagan embraced the Kemp-Roth tax cut, Newt Gingrich was on the frontlines working to pass the legislation.

First, Newt led the drive to build the Republican Party into the majority party.

Second, Newt Gingrich helped Reagan prevail during the most difficult days of his presidency.

Third, as we know, in 1994, Newt engineered the first Republican takeover of Congress since 1952. The victories he helped to win through the Contract for America for balanced budgets, welfare reform and the largest capital gains tax cut in history produced an economy that permitted President Clinton to bask in the glow of success. His contributions were never acknowledged by the Democratic Party. His efforts won no backing from today’s Republican front-runner.

Just imagine what America could accomplish with the Gingrich Plan: with real spending restraints, real regulatory reform and a strong dollar, a 12.5% corporate tax rate, equaling Ireland’s near-lowest in the world, 100% expensing, an optional 15% flat tax, zero tax on capital gains and inheritances, an all-out drive for American energy and the choice of personal Social Security accounts for young people. Logic compels us to believe that with these bold solutions, Americans will once again surpass expectations and shock the world.

I do believe, the great one, Mark Levin, said the claim about newt and Reagan was, how shall we say this, oh yes, horse manure.

I know this. Give Newt the nomination and he will immediately go for Obama’s throat and not stop squeezing.

Newt will make it out of Iowa alive, not sure Machmann or Perry will.

Churchill of our time. Warts and all. So too is Obama the Neville of our time. I just pray our large cities don't look like London 1945. If they do Neville Obama will wear the crown of capitulation.

From Wiki biography:

"In 1983, he (Newt Gingrich) founded the Conservative Opportunity Society (COS), a group that included young conservative House Republicans. Early COS members included Robert Smith Walker, Judd Gregg, Dan Coats and Connie Mack III. The group expanded over time to comprise several dozen representatives[23] who met each week to exchange and develop ideas.[22]

Gingrich's analysis of polls and public opinion identified the group's initial focus.[23] Ronald Reagan adopted the "opportunity society" ideas for his 1984 re-election campaign, supporting the group's conservative goals on economic growth, education, crime, and social issues, which he had not emphasized during his first term."

Doesn't sound too much like horse manure to me. For a guy who was a freshman Congressman in 1979, it looks to me like he got right to work and never stopped.

I’ll trust what the director of White House speechwriting for President Reagan says about that, i.e. the man who wrote this endorsement, more than a talk show host who wasn’t there at the time.

It is a real conundrum.
Everyone of our guys, or gals, seems tainted in one way or another.
Savage thinks that with Newt, Obumbo will win in a landslide.
I guess everyone has their own opinion.

All of our potential candidates look both good and bad.
There seems to be no clear choice on who to fight the Communist.

Please no partition replies on who we should nominate, unless it is fresh info.

America needs something much better than Newt. Sadly he is about the only option right now...

PRAYING FOR NEWT GINGRICH.

He has the right idea to try to keep politics out of the gutter, but unfortunately, Iowa is well on its way to proving that vile attack ads are still effective, no matter how much voters claim to hate them.

Newt is going to readjust his campaign strategy now, to wage war against those dirty dealers.

Game on, rivals!

Churchill of our time.

Yes, we need a Churchill. I pray in these coming elections that people will come to their senses and vote for Newt. I am so sick of our side falling for the media's manipulations to choose the most moderate (weakest) candidate just so they can laugh at us and report on how uninspired we are to go to the polls. Vote for Newt and be inspired!!!

Please, not Gingrich.

At this point in our Nation’s history, we need a someone with ethics and morals at the helm...someone we can trust to do the right thing when no one’s looking.

If I knew what you stated to be fact, I would be fully on board with Newt.

I do not share your confidence in him.

We need a leader, not a college prof, not a talker, not a Washington insider, someone who has done things instead of talking about doing things. We need a young Dick Cheney Clone.

LOL, you can call Mark and ask him about it, he will be on tomorrow night. He might even tell you the jobs he had with Reagan. Should be interesting, I will tune in.
