If you heard more "Merry Christmas" than "Happy Holiday" during the 2011 holiday season, it may be a sign that using "Politically Correct" language is going out of style.

I wouldn't click on that cesspool of a blog if you paid me.
Hahaha, pc is pushed by gays, I was overjoyed by how many people said Merry Christmas to me while I was out shopping, and everyone said it back after I said Merry Christmas to them if they said happy holidays first.
As long as eschewing political correctness has the potential of getting one sued, or worse, prosecuted, it will continue to hang around our necks like a dead albatross. It will take politicians and academicians with the guts to reverse such p.c. abominations such as affirmative action and campus speech codes before we could ever see a real rollback of political correctness.
I wonder if you are right! I’m a baby boomer and I notice that almost all of that crap comes from my fellow boomers - with the horrible exception of their “highly-educated” grandchildren. Unfortunately, I’ll probably be gone before pc goes totally under.
Merry Christmas!
Speaking of “GAY”, I attended a high school Christmas concert, at which the students sang a jazzed up version of “Deck the Halls”. And the line about “gay apparel” was changed to something else.
The word “gay” has gone far beyond being a double entendre word. For example, the word screw can have a different meaning, depending on the context. But the word gay now means only homosexual. The original meaning of the word has been obliterated. It is never used in that context anymore.
I bet the music director of the school didn’t want the kids to sing about “gay apparel”, so they changed the song slightly, including certain lyrics.
I have heard a lot more of “Merry Christmas” this year than in past years.
And I have yet to hear anyone say anything about Kwanzaa. Usually the MSM pushes Kwanzaa. The first day of Kwanzaa was yesterday, but no mention on the news about it.
I must interject a thought here. I don’t see all the brouhaha about “Happy Holidays” and “Seasons’ Greetings” being PC. We used them all the time when I was growning up in the 40s and 50s. The juxtapostition of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years made the phrases sort of a conventinet shorthand. Of course, others motives for their use may vary.
Noting your posting history, you never post replies.

I conclude you are only here to use Free Republic’s traffic
to get blog hits for your own scummy blog at Examiner.
You, lady, are a scummy scabby blogpimp.
It all depends on the context. If we are talking about the holiday season in general, then Happy Holidays or Season’s Greetings makes sense.
I think what people are talking about is when Christmas festivals in some cities are renamed, or when a Christmas tree is renamed to be a “holiday tree”, or a “giving tree”. That’s when we see clear PC attempts to obliterate mention of a specific holiday such as Christmas.
Of course, it’s okay to mention a specific holiday such as Kwanzaa under the ideology of political correctness. Just don’t say Christmas.
Political Correctness is ingrained in the children in government/public schools. “No Tolerance” is intolerance.
It’s all part of the Gramsci-Alinsky Tactics to control the hearts and minds of people.
Notes on Saul Alinsky and Neo-Marxism:
Alinsky’s tactics were based, not on Stalin’s revolutionary violence, but on the Neo-Marxist strategies of Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Communist. Relying on gradualism, infiltration and the dialectic process rather than a bloody revolution, Gramsci’s transformational Marxism was so subtle that few even noticed the deliberate changes.
Like Alinsky, Mikhail Gorbachev followed Gramsci, not Lenin. In fact, Gramsci aroused Stalins’s wrath by suggesting that Lenin’s revolutionary plan wouldn’t work in the West. Instead the primary assault would be on Biblical absolutes and Christian values, which must be crushed as a social force before the new face of Communism could rise and flourish. Malachi Martin gave us a progress report:
“By 1985, the influence of traditional Christian philosophy in the West was weak and negligible.... Gramsci’s master strategy was now feasible. Humanly speaking, it was no longer too tall an order to strip large majorities of men and women in the West of those last vestiges that remained to them of Christianity’s transcendent God.”

I’m against all forms of politically-correct speech, and am therefore I am empowering people to be diverse and inclusive when attempting to achieve social justice and speak truth to power.
As an aging BB I can tell you we weren’t the ones who started this crap. It was forced down our throat by government mandated diversity training, pushed by the Leftist media, swallowed whole by the the college educated fairer sex and Madison Avenue types who ran with it as a sales tool. I have never been afflicted with this disease, and most of the men my age weren’t either.
“The first day of Kwanzaa was yesterday, but no mention on the news about it.”
If you live within the viewing areas (approx 90 mile radius) of Detroit local news stations, you will see plenty about Kwanzaa.
“After all, we’re ALL Detroiters.”
-Guy Gordon, local news guy speaking to entire CH 7 viewing area from Channel 7 Action News HQ studios in Southfield, MI (circa 1997).
I’ve always noticed that lesbo women have been in the vanguard of politically collect speech. Nothing worse than being corrected by an obese lesbo when one talks about Eskimos rather than “Inuits,” lol!
I have noticed the over use of the word “issue”. It is politically incorrect to say problem.
