And these are the people who are trying to "fix" the American economy?
The Obama Campaign has launched a coordinated effort urging people to save money... or something. On their official Wisconsin, California, and Indiana twitter feeds, the President's campaign is slamming Republicans for their supposed "fuzzy math." Unfortunately for Obama, he is employing idiots.

Cannot multiply forty times twelve. By the way, forty times twelve equals four hundred eighty dollars, by my estimation.
By the way, if I had forty dollars to burn, I would buy the Obama Campaign a calculator. What would you spend it on?
$666! LOL!
Back when video stores still existed our local store had about 5 customers in it when the power went off in the town. The girl behind the counter, a recent HS graduate of about 18, was having trouble figuring out change so all of us old timers would tell her what the change should be. She insisted in laboriously figuring it out on her own. She couldn’t understand how we could figure it in our heads while she could barely get it done with pencil and paper. I told her, “Because we were taught math in school and you weren’t, blame your teachers and government schools”. She didn’t like that answer but the other customers agreed with me.
I thought I heard that it was $19.00/month, thus the overall total for the two months would be $40.00. I really don't know what happened to the two dollars... maybe we'd have to check behind the sofa cushions for them.
Back in the old days...1970’s - AKA the pre pocket calculator era... I had a strict math teacher. She said if you can’t do arithmetic in your head, you will get ripped off at the checkout counter. Always calculate the total when adding items to your shopping cart so at least you’d know what you should pay.
Yeah right now the Money Markets are doing a little better.
I shopped around and found a CD that paid .40%, but it wasnt worth the 5 gallons of gas to go and have it changed to another bank.
I’ve experienced that too. It makes me wonder what kind of society will develop when enough people can’t handle monetary concepts in their head. A society full of OWS people and a few elites.
Real property, and money flow into the high quality, high dividend paying stocks, is now accelerating (price advances picking up almost across the board).
Opportunity for decent (and very generous) returns abound in the capital markets, don't settle for the paltry interest rates offered, you will be eaten alive by inflation!
Thanks gorush.
I’d by the Obama campaign a Ti-83. Back in my day, they cost about 83.33, which is what they meant to write.
