From Stand With Arizona's Facebook page:
PHOENIX (KPHO) -
Sheriff Joe Arpaio had his first run-in with a group of suspected illegal immigrants since things heated up with the Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice recently revoked his deputies' ability to check immigration status inside Maricopa County jails.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lt. Justin Griffin says they pulled over a vehicle and have eight people in their custody for human smuggling at 35th Avenue and Durango.
Griffin says they attempted to give four of the detainees to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but MCSO says ICE is refusing to take them.
Griffin says, "We asked ICE, 'If we were DPS, would you take them from us?' And we were told specifically, 'Yes.'"
Stay with KPHO.com and CBS 5 for more on this developing story.
“Well, it needs to change by getting back to local and states rights.”
That’s not as good as it sounds; there are a few legitimate roles for a federal government, and the border and defense are included in them. Without a national standard, you could have a situation where California admits immigrants that Texas never normally would, and that person then moves to Texas as a CALIFORNIAN rather than a Mexican/Saudi/whatever. This is exactly what happened in Canada with the Millenium bomber; he was admitted to Quebec as a French speaker, from which point he easily traveled to western Canada - where they would have never admitted him otherwise.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Stop reading sound bites and find out why Joe endorsed him.
I understand that but the Feds are the ones actively failing us.
That is the entire point! Not only are they failing us, they are THWARTING US.
Close. What Sheriff Joe should do is hold them in a tent city and then start chartering buses for every 60 of them. Once they get enough to fill a bus, put 'em on and send to Washington D.C. Once there, kick their ass to the curb and go back to AZ.
Repeat.
We have a federal policy; we just don’t have anybody willing to enforce it. And the feds are making sure nobody CAN enforce it. They are undermining the rule of law. Not only are they refusing to protect the states from foreign invasion as required by the US Constitution, they are keeping the states from being able to do so as dictated by the 10th Amendment.
They are lawless thugs.
We need to fire the whole lot of them and replace them with the people Arpaio had - the ones who showed they were willing to actually do what they were employed to do.
I'm sure his defense will go over great with the ladies. /s
I guarantee you, if the feds just got the **** out of the matter and we funded the states to handle the border issue, it would be a done deal.
Better yet, if the Feds allowed local residents on the border to patrol the border and enforce it, we would have no border problem.
I am not talking vigilantes, I am just talking local autonomy.
No the one who is/has dealing with the immigration problem w/no help from barry. Perry, the one who the sheriff is supporting. You are thinking of mitt who is barry’s counterpart - big mouth, big gov’t mitt. Keep our enemy, mitt, separate from decent candidates. You want to trash anyone - trash mitt and barry. It’s the liberal media’s job and GOP elite to trash Perry and Newt.
Just wait until interior states start demanding Constitutional protection. The SHTF moment is coming.
Just before Christmas with the average person busy getting ready for Christmas.
Then New Years to follow.
ICE is long gone for the next two weeks and the public could care less.
Then they stall for another 2 weeks and local law enforcement winds up carrying the entire load for a month or longer.

Gov. Rick Perry added a ban on sanctuary cities to the special-session agenda, making real one of Democrats biggest worries about the overtime session....
Republicans werent able to pass the legislation in regular session because of a rule generally requiring a two-thirds vote in the Senate to consider legislation.
As passed by the House in the regular session, the legislation would ban local governments from prohibiting law enforcement officers from inquiring into the immigration status of people they detain.
Texas owes it to the brave law enforcement officials, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities, to give them the discretion they need to adequately do their jobs, Perry said in a statement.
Perry specifically added issuance of drivers licenses and personal identification certificates, along with use of the federal Secure Communities program by law enforcement agencies, to the special-session call.cates to the special session call.
Abolishing sanctuary cities in Texas, using the federal Secure Communities program and ensuring that only individuals who are here legally can obtain a valid Texas drivers license sends a clear message that Texas will not turn a blind eye to those breaking our laws, Perry said in a statement.
Just let Newt bring that out in debate. Oh Lord.......
Perry got right in Obamas face on the tarmac in Texas a few months back. Right in Obama’s face. Up close and personal. Pretty gutty thing to do...
They suck and this is all politically timed.
Who would have the guts to ask him that question? If we had people willing to ask questions like those we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in right now.
We had video footage of Planned Parenthood helping what they believed to be pimps trafficking teenage sex slaves - telling them how to evade the law. And our tax dollars STILL fund Planned Parenthood. What we’ve got in DC and in the media are so slimy they even sleaze their way out of being caught red-handed. It’s lawlessness. As long as the media is fine with it and the people are sleeping, the boa winds its way effortlessly around the neck of a once-great country.
“they are THWARTING US”
You are absolutely right, and their using our tax dollars to do it.
