A California state senator called on home improvement chain Lowe's to apologize for pulling advertising from a TV show featuring the lives of Muslim families.
Lowe's pulled advertising from Discovery Channel/TLC's "All-American Muslim" after the Florida Family Assn. complained about the show, which it called "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.”
State Sen. Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) wrote a letter Saturday to Lowe's Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Niblock in which he called the decision to pull advertising from the show "bigoted, shameful, and un-American" and "profoundly ignorant." He demanded that the company rescind its action and apologize or face boycotts and legislative action.
"Lowe’s religious discrimination is the equivalent of a company asserting that it is pulling advertising from the Christian Broadcast Network’s 700 Club because the program somehow 'riskily hides' the agenda of Christian radicalized groups such as Aryan Nation," Lieu wrote. "That assertion would, of course, be utter nonsense and religious bigotry."
Lowe's issued a statement in which it apologized for having "managed to make some people very unhappy" but did not say it would reinstate advertising on the show.

Lowe’s is my primary source for home improvement. I just rented a post hole digger from HD today because they were the only source. Other than that, Homo Depot gets nothing.
Perhaps he’s confusing the California State Senate with the old Soviet Politboro. Not all that hard to do...
Usually, advertising is something that is bought in blocks. They were most likely not shown any of the promos that we got to see and when they were alerted that their package deal included the time slot for this show, combined with the promos we all saw, they called in the marketing reps for Discovery and demanded not to put their ads on this show or lose the deal altogether.
Same here. Homo Depot has not seen my face in years, nor will it ever again. After reading this thread, I feel quit content with the 6 trips I made to Lowes this weekend, spending $8700 on kitchen upgrades.

My final experience with HD involved an employee who was sullen, rude, unhelpful, and looked gay as a three dollar bill.
Lowe’s ever since, with great results.
Anyway, this Cal State senator sounds really full of himself and apparently thinks he has almighty power. And someone needs to take “All American Muslimah”, dub it with substitute dialogue and load it on youtube. Have all the happy assimilated muzzies end their sentences with “death to America!” for example.
Is this not a free country anymore? Lowe’s has the right to advertise where and when it wants ... not where and when a legislator tells them to.

And had Lowe's pulled ads from "Sarah Palin's Alaska" then no doubt this same senator would by supporting their corporate right to advertise wherever they want.

If the state senator needs help in determining what “bigoted” really is, have him look to Eric “the bigot” Holder and the US Attorney General’s Office and the Justice Department ... now there are some real bigots there!
