1% vs 99% ZOT

Posted on 12/09/2011 8:35:26 PM PST by TheDailyChange

I got a real bad feeling the 2nd Civil War may be coming soon. While the (1% millionaires and billionaires) continue to print Trillions of dollars and run off at the mouth on the radio and television while continuing to run the world by establishing themselves as the “FEW WHO CONTROL THE MASSES) it has all the elements for a bad outcome.

As a conservative who has given much thought to what all is going on, it has become abundantly all too clear that the objective of the 1% Democrats and Republicans who are OWNED and DIRECTED by HUGE CORPORATIONS is to have all of the hard working good hearted Americans quarrel amongst ourselves trying to make us take sides while they, the 1% go on vacationing, buying beautiful homes, imposing more regulations and partying like it's 1999, all the while laughing at us who are caught up in the BS that is coming from them!

Until Americans from all walks of life decide that quarreling amongst ourselves is a waste of time and decide to band together for the greater good which is saving America and it's citizens from the enemy, it will be then and only then that you will free yourself, your friends and family from tyranny.

Honest to goodness, I have absolutely no idea WTH you are talking about. Usurp America’s resources? HUH?

I generally oppose all redistribution wealth bottom up, and top down.

If someone has a great idea and has the guts and competence to put a big bet on it, and gets rich I’m happy. That’s capitalism. Today there is too much crony capitalism where the big bets have have been made and lost, and the middle class taxpayers get stuck with the bill on a US credit card and it has been going on for some time. This kind of capitalism is rampant in the USA. If we don’t break out of that corrupt mold of payoffs and paybacks that goes with it, I’m not confident at all of where the USA is headed.

Few major businesses open their doors without being on the government dole with taxpayer money, or some kind of special credits. It’s based on favoritism because it is based upon connections.

Business used to be about getting private funding and reaping the rewards (or loss). Today the bigger the business the more taxpayer money they get. This policy started in earnest with the so-called redevelopment dollars and progressed to billion dollar stadiums covered by taxpayers forced to pay up for bribes or lose the business or teams. Sometimes they even throw out private property owners under eminent domain so that someone else profits.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Consider if only for a moment that you are be able to see something differently and that it may also have some validity to it.

Many freepers will pooh pooh you as a socialist/communist, but I do agree with you overall. Problem is when the ruling elites starts to push change in a rapid and chaotic fashion and does not let the working person rest or have respite. The working classes in society will breakdown. Free trade, globalism and corporate control of gov have produce vast wealth, lower prices for goods and etc, but it also disrupted families and income growth of working people. Most worker income grew in a saber saw pattern. Workers change jobs every 3 to 5 years, layoff new career layoff pattern. Each time he gets a new job, it is in a slightly different field and he must start at a lower salary and must prove himself. Just when he makes progress the company will lay him off and restart the cycle. Yes he will make more money but in a up and down fashion till he is in his mid 40’s. Then he is considered old and not marketable unless he is willing to settle for his final job at 1/3 less salary then last job. At this stage in life he is struggling to put his kids thru college and taking care of aging parents. Eventually all this up and down instability will break him down. He no longer view gov and corporate America favorably as he watches the ones on top never get laid off or go thru what he is. More hurtful is the ones on top gets bonuses and salary increases even when the company is losing money and laying him off. The meltdown on Wall Street is the final straw as the American public learn of all the reckless leveraging and lying in the mortgage business. Now the working American must lose their jobs because of it and worst stuck with the tax bill to bail out corporate America. Rebellion? The seeds are laid, all it needs is a spark if things do not get better. Unfortunately many freepers still have great faith and trust in corporate America. I guess things must get worst before they learn. Some don’t even understand that people can be pushed so far before they push back. Gov and corporate America is like a boat in the ocean where the people are the water. If a boat creates too much waves, the ocean will sink the boat.

I busted my ass since the time I was 6 to make the right decisions (military, grad college, get good job, get married, etc.) striving to make it into that 1% you talk about. I haven’t yet made it, but it’s good to strive, even better to make it there. Those people who make it are, by and large, good, deserving people.

For you to denigrate them is not good. It makes you look pretty dumb and, especially, very envious!

You’re definitely one of the 1%. I saw a bunch of you One Percenters trying to “occupy” DC Thursday, marching in a noisy but compact little mob, pretty much ignored by everyone except the police who were trying to keep the mob as compact as possible.

And why do I call you the One Percenters? Because you and your redistributionist ilk don’t even represent that much of the population. Most of us work for a living and don’t expect everything to be handed to us on a silver platter like you do.

BTW, you should have paid attention in school. The word “its” when used as a possessive does not have an apostrophe. The word “it’s” (note the apostrophe) means “it is”. You have made that mistake many times.

There used to be a corporate America and those were the days when we could legitimately say when business did well America does well. That ain’t the case today. Business is doing well but the USA isn’t.

Today these corporations have less loyalty to America than they do to China. Now that China etc. have taken our economy, courtesy of decades of traitors in Congress and the White House, they have a market for more than rickshaws and rice. Courtesy of our trade policies and our stolen economy they compete for our energy, where 30 years ago they didn’t. Thanks DC.

I can see some bad stuff happening in the USA too unless the politicians start looking at the “greater good” instead of only their personal bank accounts. Their job is to defend the USA.... its economy and borders, and I don’t see them doing either.

Despite inclusion of a few nuggets of truth here and there (i.e. “Free trade, globalism and corporate control of gov have produce vast wealth, lower prices for goods and etc, but it also disrupted families and income growth of working people.”), what you have posted is basically a load of crap.

When you start talking about “ruling elites” you reveal too much of yourself. You also sell yourself short. Don’t expect too much sympathy around here.

Thank you for your insight and perspective. Spot on!

I am so saddened about all the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, etc. In all too many ways policies coming out of Washington DC more often than not end up hurting America and Americans. If the so-called PATRIOTIC AMERICAN politician really wanted to fix this country and make her great again, they could and would. They don’t want to. There is too much $$$$ to make for themselves by being liars and deceivers rather than statesmen. In the beginning the politicians would go to Washington and conduct meetings for the “Greater Good” of America and Americans and then go back to their jobs as farmers, doctors, etc.

Now, it is all about becoming a CAREER POLITICIAN, that is BS if I may say so.

My apologies for not being so damned educated as you in your writing skills. However, there are many educated idiots and perhaps you may be one of them in more ways than one.

P.S. I am NOT a One Percenter, just a person who looks both ways and considers possibilities on both sides. Why don’t you give it a try sometime.

Basically, you are bemoaning the fact that money has influence. However, not everyone with money have the same interests. The “corporations” is a misnomer. Corporations compete. Individuals compete - unless there is no freedom.

I am not convinced that our political parties are closed to the influence of individuals. I am convinced that most people are lazy and impatient and want to blame others for the complex problems we face and look for the simplistic answers provided by those who would diminish our freedom.
