Many freepers will pooh pooh you as a socialist/communist, but I do agree with you overall. Problem is when the ruling elites starts to push change in a rapid and chaotic fashion and does not let the working person rest or have respite. The working classes in society will breakdown. Free trade, globalism and corporate control of gov have produce vast wealth, lower prices for goods and etc, but it also disrupted families and income growth of working people. Most worker income grew in a saber saw pattern. Workers change jobs every 3 to 5 years, layoff new career layoff pattern. Each time he gets a new job, it is in a slightly different field and he must start at a lower salary and must prove himself. Just when he makes progress the company will lay him off and restart the cycle. Yes he will make more money but in a up and down fashion till he is in his mid 40’s. Then he is considered old and not marketable unless he is willing to settle for his final job at 1/3 less salary then last job. At this stage in life he is struggling to put his kids thru college and taking care of aging parents. Eventually all this up and down instability will break him down. He no longer view gov and corporate America favorably as he watches the ones on top never get laid off or go thru what he is. More hurtful is the ones on top gets bonuses and salary increases even when the company is losing money and laying him off. The meltdown on Wall Street is the final straw as the American public learn of all the reckless leveraging and lying in the mortgage business. Now the working American must lose their jobs because of it and worst stuck with the tax bill to bail out corporate America. Rebellion? The seeds are laid, all it needs is a spark if things do not get better. Unfortunately many freepers still have great faith and trust in corporate America. I guess things must get worst before they learn. Some don’t even understand that people can be pushed so far before they push back. Gov and corporate America is like a boat in the ocean where the people are the water. If a boat creates too much waves, the ocean will sink the boat.

There used to be a corporate America and those were the days when we could legitimately say when business did well America does well. That ain’t the case today. Business is doing well but the USA isn’t.

Today these corporations have less loyalty to America than they do to China. Now that China etc. have taken our economy, courtesy of decades of traitors in Congress and the White House, they have a market for more than rickshaws and rice. Courtesy of our trade policies and our stolen economy they compete for our energy, where 30 years ago they didn’t. Thanks DC.

I can see some bad stuff happening in the USA too unless the politicians start looking at the “greater good” instead of only their personal bank accounts. Their job is to defend the USA.... its economy and borders, and I don’t see them doing either.

Despite inclusion of a few nuggets of truth here and there (i.e. “Free trade, globalism and corporate control of gov have produce vast wealth, lower prices for goods and etc, but it also disrupted families and income growth of working people.”), what you have posted is basically a load of crap.

When you start talking about “ruling elites” you reveal too much of yourself. You also sell yourself short. Don’t expect too much sympathy around here.

Thank you for your insight and perspective. Spot on!

I am so saddened about all the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, etc. In all too many ways policies coming out of Washington DC more often than not end up hurting America and Americans. If the so-called PATRIOTIC AMERICAN politician really wanted to fix this country and make her great again, they could and would. They don’t want to. There is too much $$$$ to make for themselves by being liars and deceivers rather than statesmen. In the beginning the politicians would go to Washington and conduct meetings for the “Greater Good” of America and Americans and then go back to their jobs as farmers, doctors, etc.

Now, it is all about becoming a CAREER POLITICIAN, that is BS if I may say so.

That is quite frankly the most brilliant description/analysis of the entire situation.
