Using kids as props to tug at emotional heart strings is nothing new. Case in point: An LGBT activist in South Carolina had her son approach Rep. Michelle Bachmann and say, "My mommy doesn't need fixing."

"An 8-year-old boy named Elijah approached Michelle Bachmann at a recent meet-and-greet event in South Carolina to promote her new book, Core of Conviction: My Story, to let her know that his mom was a lesbian and didn’t need to be cured or converted, Michelle was none too happy to be cornered that way."
Regardless of your stance on the issue, using kids like this doesn't look good for anyone involved- especially when the child is uncomfortable doing it.

If the child was uncomfortable confronting Bachmann, as an adult, the mother committed child abuse.

Apparently mommy very badly needs fixing - besides her deviant sexual proclivities she’s abusive towards her child and is a coward.

Someone needs to tell young Master Elijah, if his mommy was an intellectually consistent lesbian then by necessity he would never have been born at all. IVF is still heterosexual reproduction.

Neither my 7 or 9 year-old children know what the word ‘homosexual’ means. Even my 13-year-old (who has finally decided that boys aren’t as icky as once thought) has just figured out what it means, and she thinks it’s gross. Maybe the fact that they’ve been raised in a conservative Catholic household where we actually attend Mass weekly has had something to do with it.
Michelle should have said... “I know your mother put you up to this, but your father, in heaven and on earth, beg to differ...”
It’s probably the same grandstanding, child-abusing twit that pulled this identical stunt with another candidate a couple of months ago in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of South Carolina.
Just wait until he reaches puberty. He will probably be so screwed up he will make homosexuals like Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy seem normal by comparison.
When my kids were younger I recall my wife & I being reluctant to even allow their gradeschool to use their images on the school webpage - we weren't alone.
A normal parent thinks about their kids safety and well-being above everything else. I would rather have poked my eye out with a stick than subject my kid to this kind of attention.
I expect pretty soon the Mommy will get the kid fixed. Trans-mutilated.

Same here and my oldest 13 years old found is disgusting, he said that all his friends at school do too.
My other youngest kids have no clue and that is how I want it. Kids this young should not be thinking about sex, etc
This woman is an activist and I am betting she uses this kid for her own agenda the poor child.
Another thing, if she is so into her agenda then why not move to MA where more of her ilk are and where her kid will not grow up to be a child with very out there views.
I’m guessing she goes around and talks about getting married too but forgets she is in a state where marriage is a man and a woman
Michelle should have asked the child did her mom put her up to this and then go up to the mom and say why are you using this child for your agenda
