While the capital markets may be cheering that in the past month 120,000 people supposedly found jobs, even if these were largely temporary or part-time just in time for the year end shopping sprees, we wonder how they will react when learning that according to the latest update from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), some 423,000 Americans found their way to minimum way subsistence, courtesy of Food Stamp handouts from Uncle Sam. Since the start of the Second Great Depression, food stamp participation has increased by 18.7 million, and is now at an all time higher 46.3 million. All Bush's fault, or something. At least the chart below appears to be plateauing... Actually, sorry, no isn't.
The economy is in the toilet because of Obama plus he expanded eligibility. Now middle class people can get food stamps. Its turned into yet another subsidy for those who want to stick their hands out and get it. There used to be a time when I was younger when you took food stamps because you had to and you avoided it by any means if you could. Not anymore. We are turning into a nation of freeloaders with no shame in asking for a handout no matter what their circumstances.
Wait a minute, something doesn't make sense. I'm looking at that graph, and about 31 million were on food stamps at the end of the President Bush presidency. So 15 million extra were added during the last few years of the Obama presidency! It is nearly ALL Obama's fault!
46 million Democrat voters no doubt!!!!

Never forget either with this president, this is redistribution of wealth. He’s just gotten 14 million more people getting stealth reparations. While it’s not a lot individually, it’s still a significant amount of “free” - to them - money.
If this 46 million includes children - how many ‘families’ or ‘households’ might this represent?
i.e. One mother with five children = 1 Dem vote.

Not necessarily. There are millions of unemployed and underemployed middle class people who have always worked, and can't find jobs. Add in their kids, it's not hard see where the additional 16 million come from. They aren't necessarily going to vote Democrat unless the Pubs do something stupid like let the current unemployment extensions lapse.
Sounds like voter blackmail to me.
Just realism. If people are forced to choose between the prospect of long term economic recovery or keeping a roof over their heads now, they will probably choose the latter.
