I know the power of prayer so I humbly ask my fellow FReepers to pray that we find my son's glasses.
You see, my 5 year old is legally blind in his left eye with his glasses.
He has a whole slew of eye issues and late september had his 3rd eye surgery.
We haven't been able to find his glasses in about a week and I'm getting pretty frantic.
We're also awaiting word for winter lay-off's any day now. I almost expect hubby to come home with his lay off slip today. UGH.
Our insurance only pays for one pair a year and he just got these in July and well, ya know, ..........so I thought I'll humbly ask for prayers in finding his glasses.
Thank you ~
Prayers up! (’Look under the bed or between the headboard and the mattress’—that’s what mom always said.).
Will pray for you...I know the panic
Will pray for you...I know the panic
prayer on its way.
And, you could check with the local Lions Club. they may have an eye glasses program. Try www.lionsclub.org to see.
As an aside, I got over losing my glasses at age 10 after getting a good hiding. It became very important to me to know where they were. I levitated like Houdini. When children are young, their body may learn faster than their mind.

I started wearing glasses as soon as my parents could keep them on me as well. (blind in my right eye)
When I was a kid, I once lost a pair of glasses under the back seat of my Mom’s station wagon.
May The LORD God Almighty cause you to find your child’s glasses. In Jesus Holy Name, Amen.
Prayers sent.
I’ve torn this house upside down and inside out and cant find them.
I’ve even gone through a couple of trashbags ~!
Being 5, he’s not much help in looking sigh.
We’ve kept his last 2 pair of glasses just for a back up but they dont fit his head at all. So they’re no use beccause of the fit but his ‘script keeps changing from year to year.
And with a bifocal in the last 2 pair ( the missing and last years pair ), it isnt useful for his spares since the one spare doesnt have a bifocal.
Thanks for the prayers. I so so very much appreciate it ~
Prayers sent!
One thing most folks don’t know is that you can order glasses online from places like zinni optical for a tiny fraction of what the chain stores charge. I paid ~$30 dollars shipped and that included extra charges for my extra high power prescription. Your optometrist is required to give you the prescription in most states if you ask. Make sure to ask for the Pupilary Distance measurement as that’s often not provided.
Im not sure of the complexity of his scrip. But check out Zenni. Com. I get my prescription glasses for $20. I wont pay $300you anymore.
Believe it or not, I just was out cleaning my explosion ( explorer ) to see if he’d dropped them in there somewhere. Didn’t find them. Sigh.
So that thought of looking in my truck did occur to me lol
Jinx. Lol...
Check with the Lion’s club. They may can help. Our local Lions Club does this.
It’s a pretty complicated script and the bifocal is not in a “normal” spot.
He has to see an optometrist ( ?? ) to have it marked on the sample glasses.
I just called the Childrens HOpsital optical shop and they still have his script but it’ll cost over 300 bucks for a new pair YIKES.
Prayers and a suggestion: If you have a local Lions Club, contact them. They have a program to assist with glasses for kids. Start here:
