Always loved this 1947 Phil Harris record when I was a kid it was regularly being played on BBC radio
the henpecked husband being chased by an angry wife wielding a rolling pin was a staple figure of comedy in the 30s, 40s and 50s
hence the plaintive plea to the woodman.

I vaguely recall Harris from his TV time at the Crosby Golf Tourney. If I recall correctly, he liked to quaff!
Phil Harris and his movie-star wife, Alice Faye, also had a radio-show, basically spun-off from his “Jack Benny Program” role/persona. One of the funnier of the old time radio shows. I used to listen to cassette recordings of it (and others) back when I was in high-school. I even wrote a little fan-letter to Harris about the series, and he sent back an autographed thank-you card.

I remember a lot of Phil Harris from early Disney cartoons....Robin Hood, Aristocats, Jungle Book. “Lay some skin on me, Scat Cat!”
