The focus of tonight's GOP presidential debate in Spartanburg, South Carolina will be foreign policy and national security. In preparation, the mainstream media is asking the obvious questions: Will Rick Perry "step in it" again? Does Herman Cain know who the president of "Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan" is? How many times will Jon Huntsman remind the audience he has lived overseas? But the more important (and interesting) question that could be answered tonight is: Can former Senator Rick Santorum turn his eight years on the Senate Armed Services Committee and his real world foreign policy experience into serious consideration from Republican primary voters?

Rick Santorum seems like a good guy.. A good ConservTive. He will never be Prezident. He should leave the table.
HAAAA! Sure he is. Anything to keep the focus off the non GOP Establishment candidates.
You just keep beating your dead horse Carole.
Jon Huntsman: HOW YOU PAY?
The strongest candidate, by far, on foreign policy was Thad McCotter. The media wouldn’t include him in the polls cited to qualify for the debates. If “We The People” don’t take back this process, it will be our undoing as a Nation.
Debate is on CBS TV at 8pm EST = 7pm CST = 6pm MST = 5pm PST
Santorum is ok. He is a good conservative but he don’t have the debate skills to knock this out of the park. I think Newt will though!
Did I miss anything?
But if you've really got something to say, say it here!
Bachmann is a current member of the House permanent select committee on intelligence so I expect her to do well.
Stupid comments about how to pronounce that nation’s name or who its president is, really says more about the writer than it does about Mr Cain. Without looking it up, I doubt the writer can name the president of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Bengal, or even New Zealand.
With all due respect, so-called “experienced foreign policy” of the Bush and Obama administrations has helped lead to the decline of the American empire. I’d like someone who isn’t “experienced” the way the previous regimes are. Common sense > RINO/Dem experience.
What about Michele Bachmann?
I truly believe that if she only had more foster children in her life, she might of had a shot at the nomination!
23 just is not enough, if she had say 41 foster kids then maybe that would have been ok. But she needs to really sell the 23 foster kids in tonights debate.
BTW did I mention I raised 28 children, 24 of them are currently in college and the bills are smothering us
Michelle also needs to mention that she and her husband run a for profit “Christian” counseling center.
Santorum is Bush’s third term; empty blather about social issues, saber rattling foreign policy blather, and a big government spender fiscally. Plus, hes as boring as dripping water. No thanks
My requirements for Foreign Policy:
1. Think USA interests first, everything else is secondary.
2. No nation building in any foreign country. No one helped us, and we are broke and 15 TRILLION dollars in debt.
3. Free trade yes, only if it is FAIR trade. Do not buy any more from them than they buy from us.
4. Dismantle several hundred US bases abroad. Not wise to borrow from China to continue foreign adventures. That was the undoing of the Roman Empire, Alexander the Great, The Third Reich, and every other empire in history. Aircraft carriers, Naval ships & submarines, & long range missiles are good substitutes.
5. Maintain a strong military. Peace works better through strength than appeasement.
He’s a bone head. Has no chance of winning this primary. He’s auditioning for a network gig.
Did he not lose his senate seat to a right to life lying democrat? Has as much chance here.
Remember his foolish attack on Perry a couple of debates ago? He shot himself to death on stage doing that.
Yes, you forgot to make the “I” in “I proposed” BOLD! lol
Hilarious- Excellent post! Did you know she was a tax attorney?
WHile I appreciate his qualifications for the things he has cited, that repetition of “I” has also bothered me.
