Oregon Police Fear 'Occupy' Protesters Arming Themselves for Looming Confrontation

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police believe that some protesters inside the Occupy Portland encampments are building shields and makeshift weapons -- including nails hammered into wood -- in preparation for when authorities attempt to clear the parks this weekend, police said Friday.

Occupy Portland organizers have repeatedly said the movement is nonviolent and have appealed to demonstrators to resist peacefully when the camps close at midnight on Saturday. They planned public marches and a potluck dinner before the deadline and hoped the public would take part.

But police said as many as 150 anarchists may come to Portland to take part in a possible clash with officers.

"If there are anarchists, if there are weapons, if there is an intention to engage in violence and confrontation, that obviously raises our concerns," Portland police Lt. Robert King said. "But I know we'll be able work through that and manage that, because we want to protect everyone there, especially the peaceful protester."

Really, not all cities have done that and there have been several no notice middle of the night raids already conducted by cities.

Police action does not have to IMMEDIATELY follow the deadline. It may follow anytime after the deadline. For tactical reasons, police may decide to wait until a favorable time such as the middle of the night.

Thanks for the links. Can’t check them now, though. Have to get ready to do something these left-wing fleabags rarely if ever do: go to work! :)

Community Board Asks "Occupy Wall Street" Protesters To Clean Up, Quiet Down
NY-1 News ^ | Oct 20, 2011 | Michael Herzenberg

“This has been a nightmare,” said Brian Summers, who lives near Zuccotti Park.

Summers said those trying to force corporations to become better corporate citizens should learn to be better citizens themselves.

“It makes us feel horrible. We work down here, we live down here,” said Summers.

Drums are played each and every day. The noise registers as 117 on a decibel meter.

According to the federal government, regular exposure to 110 decibels can lead to permanent hearing loss.

From blocks away, it might not be physically harmful, but neighbors say it's damaging lives.

“We support the message, and a lot of residents do, but they also want to have a good night sleep,” said Manhattan City Councilmember Margaret Chin.

Local officials have been swamped with neighborhood complaints.

That's why they invited protesters to hear them firsthand at a Community Board 1 meeting Thursday.

Besides the noise problem, residents say protesters are pouring urine in the streets.

Our neighbors do not urinate and defecate in the street. These occupiers need to vacate our neighborhood,” said one resident.

Deadly weapons will require use of deadly force.

I’m siding with police on this one. If the animals want to play “rise of the Planet of the apes” they need to learn that the outcome was pure fantasy.

I'm afraid if this carries on like this, the only language these ultra-radicals like Dohrn and Ayers understand is what comes from the muzzle of an M1 Garand or M-14. They are the true bullies and we must stand up to them.

Thanks (i think). About 10% was postworthy. The rest, pretty dopey stuff, and not even close to what I do. If you think it is, and I’m sure you do, you still don’t understand squat about what’s happening.

For every phony like you, there are at least 20 legit Freepers who appreciate my posts. You apparently are too dumb to understand the relevance of them.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'll share some wise words that once were shared with me: If you don't like it, scroll through it.

You're full of it and you know it. You only posted that crap to make an idiotic statement regarding my often lengthy posts. Meanwhile, the junk you posted is in no way comparable to mine. In short, I don't need or want partners like you. I doubt you're even on the same side. Either that or you're about as dumb as dumb can be.
