I’m leaning towards McQueary was the steroid candy-man as an alternative theory.
Oh, gee.
I guess I would want to be here too if I haven’t already been here for the past couple days.
It sure has been an experience so far.
Glad this conversation came to a good end.
Tow trucks now being called in at State College to move vehicles just stopped and abondoned on the two E/W main streets. Crazy I tell you.
College and Beaver?
I’m in my hotel now, but I’ll be out soon to check out the scene.
I don’t think he was banned from the campus after 2002. That’s what makes this even more outrageous and reprehensible. He continued to come on campus. Supposedly, he was working out in the football building only a few days before all of this blew up this month.
Great! So you are not one of those critters that are camping out.
Check out the place and give us a report.
Bill from Homestead, now from Hershey.
He has done a lot of Television, mostly Sports, even Magazine type shows, but is back doing Dolphin games.
This is a tough time for anyone ever associated with Penn State, especially the Football program.
Praying that calmer, smarter people get to the rock bottom of this trash, and throw out the garbage, then move on. The lawsuits will bankrupt Penn State if something is not resolved quickly.
Paterno is finally going to be gone,he should have felt bad karma when he got stomped and injured in practice months ago.. Maybe he would have received sympathy if he left then.
SU dumped Dick Mcpherson, and it came back to haunt them last week. Paul P. was also dumped.and he was with the Dolphins after that.
when all the traditions change, teams go for the big bucks, and there again it is all about winning and the all mighty dollar.
Big hairy deal, they will play once in 2013 when they are close enough for fans of both teams to travel to the others home field.
You do not sound like a fan to me, more like a Paterno apologist. Nothing will ever stay exactly the same, but some things you do not mess with. I guess you are hoping for some scandal to happen at SU, sure sounds like it.
Living in Florida, I still root for SU, but I root more for The Florida Teams the Noles,Gators, and USFL, for sure not UM with all their scandals, and more to come, especially with Donna Shalala heading up the University.
The vast majority given some cedence to my theory..especially given the new president's comments that there are "complexities" in the McQuery case..we shall see...
In one of the articles I read, it was reported that McQueary went WITH his father to see Paterno the next day. IO’ll try and find it for you..
Did you get a chance to read the indictment from the Grand Jury? That will help you know who did what, when and all the details.
John McQueary is a physician’s assistant, a certified healthcare professional. He is Chief Operating Officer/Administrative Director at Centre Medical and Surgical Associates, P.C. in State College, Pennsylvania.
I can’t think of any explanation why a man with an extensive background in the medical field, would not advise his son to immediately call law enforcement and protective services.
“Dr” John McQueary would know more than an average person exactly what kind of physical and emotional damage a 10 yo boy would experience.
I think all states require healthcare professionals to report abuse or suspected abuse of their patients. I don’t know if they are required to report non-patients. If not, they should be.
I’m steaming about the fact that Mike McQueary went to his father for advice at all when he should have simply dialed 911. I’m especially steaming b/c he went to his physician assistant father, and they still did not do the right thing.
There are plenty of locals who know that JohnMcQ is a P.A.—including media types. So why isn’t anyone asking why a medical professional did nothing?
John McQueary was also a well-known coach in the area, and is an ex-Navy guy.
He knows right from wrong. He knows the ins and outs of coaching, and certainly is smart enough to know proper protocol.
So far every person with knowledge of Sandusky’s crimes, has consciously done the wrong thing to preserve the Team, the Program, and themselves. None looking out for what was best for victims, community, college, coworkers, students.
Every one of the self-serving people must be held accountable.
I’ve read people on these threads say that Sandusky was on campus as recently as a week ago (that was a few days ago). I wish I could remember the names. I’ve read also that he had an office on campus, could use the gym facilities and more. He wasn’t banned from campus.
I realize you’ve probably been corrected a bunch of times already.
I really have to read more down the thread before jumping in with both feet. I did it yesterday, too.
A bad habit of mine.
Paterno knew that a sexual act between his former asst coach and a young boy was seen by the grad student.
Paterno thought reporting it to the next guy in the chain of command relieved him of any further responsiblity.
You can bet your life that none of the coaches allowed their children and grandchildren to be alone with Sandusky.
what do you think of this latest thing about the presentment supposedly being leaked “by accident”
It was intended to be sealed?
So...we would’ve known the charges. Curly and Shultz would’ve been arrested, but all the other stuff.....hmmmmm
Yes, it is sad to happen to people.
There is no real “happy valley” in life. There is no perfect man. There is better places than others but there is always people doing crappy things in secret. We have all done crappy things to some degree or another in secret because we are ashamed or afraid of what people will think of us. It does not dissolve all the good things about a place, community or a person. When we insist on perfection, cover ups are worse.
Marxists have managed to cancel out the good of the Founder’s design of freedom and debase their characters and lives purely based on the fact that imperfection - including slavery - existed. They made a rule in our society that you have to throw the baby out with the bath water because it serves their demoralization and toltaltarian agenda.
“Happy Valley” should not let that happen to them nor the coach who was mostly a good guy in his life. Bad things happen and we have to deal with that, recover and move on better. But for right now, the community is shocked, confused and hurting. :(
We don't know whether that is true or not.
Read the Grand jury report and stop denying the truth.
Paterno knew and chose to ignore a crime.
