There are moments in a persons life that shake you to your foundation, that cause you to rethink everything you think you know, moments that hit like a two by four upside your head. Just such moment arrived for me late on a Friday afternoon.
A friend of mine, lets call him Adam, since thats his name, has self-published a book, Formerly Filthy Rich, My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar. . . .
Now his book is at the very least R-rated, and its an account of his six year marriage to Nu Skin co-founder Sandie Tillotson. Nu Skin, for those of you who dont know, is a multi-level marketing company which sells skin care and nutrition products through a network of independent distributors.
Nu Skin thinks he knows too much, or at the very least says too much, and on this particular Friday afternoon used its team of lawyers to shut down distribution of Formerly Filthy Rich by Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Let me say that another way, in case you missed it: they got the book banned. A figurative burning of a book, but in the world of electronic publishing a burning none the less. A burning worthy of Nazi Germany, or Fahrenheit 451. Book burning and censorship in America, friends. . .

Maybe consider posting your whole piece here instead of an excerpt.
Then there would be no pimping, just dissemination of info.
Once a digital copy escapes, it’s unkillable.
I hope you’re right.
I think Examiner / FR rules prohibit that.
Examiner doesn’t appear to be on the Copyright list:

“A nice guy” marries a billionaire cougar, and then they divorce, and he writes an R-rated book about her. Nice.
If I were a billionaire cougar, I’d get an iron-clad pre-nup prohibiting kiss-and-tell books.
NuSkin!
I remember that stuff—came in little blue bottle back in the late 40s/50s—don’t tell me it’s still around!
???
Well, YOU certainly are the Nanny today, member since 11-4-11.
Yes they do.
Let me ask you this, though:
Which has more viewers, your Examiner blog or Free Republic?
Free Republic, obviously.
So why write your stuff on the Examiner blog, then come to
Free Republic and try to entice folks to click on your blog?
If your goal is to spread the information, why not just write it
here and leave the virus-laden pop-up hell of Examiner out of it?
Could it be because you are just looking for hits?
He will self publish and make a fortune because of the refusal of the original publisher to print it.
Okay...here’s the deal...the only person who cannot ban books is the government. If a person publishes a book about another person, and the former feels that he or she has been liabled, then legal action can be taken. Of course, this presents a very big PR problem...more so for the liablee because people are going to be asking a lot of questions about whether or not it is true...
Welcome, newborn, to FR.
Mind your manners or be gone.
About book burnings..
A person can easily print out a cover for an average sized book, or the size of a Readers Digest, a cover with all the authentic marks of a Qur’an or Koran.
Its winter.
Its getting colder.
garage sales books, or all those useles boxes of readers Digets can be burnt to heat your house if you are fortunate to legally own a fireplace.
But do it in style!
And post it on YouTube, create a unique fireplace screensaver, of Burning Korans!
That thread really needs to be pulled as it is completely out of date.
The posting page software indicates that, indeed, Examiner articles do need to be excerpted.
“A major NYSE listed corporation has prevented an author from publishing a book about it.”
This is not just any company, this is a Utah company owned by Mormons...My advice, elect Romney so we can have lots more of this sort of thing! Gotta protect these Mormon MLM’s! /s
Tillotson. Bleach-blonde. pfffpt
