I use the word "survivalist" in the most all-encompassing way, meaning that anyone who wants to/plans to survive a fairly good sized disaster falls into this category. As a survivalist, you need these ten things if you want to have a chance of coming out the other side of a disaster in a rather whole manner.

You too? My wife is not crazy about the space those big coffee cans take up in the cabinet... But just let the zombie apocolypse take place and she is sure going to be glad to wake up to the aroma of a good cup of coffee!
Personally, I can...several ways. But I keep a half dozen lighters, plastic wallet magnifiers and magnesium spark lighters in several places just in case. Even some 9V batts with steel wool in an Altoids tin.
Thanks for the post.
Keep up the effort - I like these kinds of posts.
They get people thinking, sharing ideas and references.
Even more important is the sharing of experience.
Even the criticisim can be constructive if it is well intentioned.
There are thousands upon thousands of ideas and lists about survival and I don’t expect to agree with the details and priorities of others most of the time.
But sometimes there are some nuggets within and at the least they are usually thought provoking and help us focus our own thoughts.
Don’t let the computer age equivalent of Flat Earthers get you down.
If they don’t want to click the link, they don’t have to.
It is intimidation tactics by people who like to “mess” with others.
In fact this type of gripe posting is called “seagulls” on another thread topic. It’s pretty funny. It seems FR is invested with those who have nothing better to do with their minds than to see to it everybody thinks like them. Or they think they are smarter than the rest of us. LOL!
It is making me sick to see it, on thread after thread, day after day.
Keep up the great work!
And thank you for the free guide!
invested = infested!!!
Yep. It’s pretty much the only thing that’ll keep me going! It’ll be a good bartering tool and good ‘bait’ if needed for my Zombie Traps, LOL!
I look forward to your pings. I have learned so much. Thank you.

Hey, blog pimp all you want. I don’t care where the info comes from as long as it’s good. Here’s a pat on the back for a job well done.
To the list, I’d add a sense of humor. It might fit into people skills but one needs to be able to roll with the flow and laugh off the bad times.
Don’t make me laugh. I don’t have enough air stockpiled for that. ;^)
you are offering very valuable material. Dont you dare stop.. (please?)..
check your FReepmail
My own list.
1. Location. You better either be in a great location or have access to it. I'm in an alright temporary spot, but not a good one long term being three miles from the border of Ann Arbor. I'm 200 miles from what I consider an ideal location. Family owned 120 acres. Water. Food. Game. Materials. Few people. 150 miles from the closet inner city. I could even make a greenhouse for long term there.
2. Food, water, clothes, fire, weapons (guns, ammo (limited even with reloading), bows, arrows (reusable), Knives, clubs). Obvious. Gasoline and Diesel will be the most valuable resource of all in a SHTF scenario.
3. Knowledge. Almost anyone can shoot a gun, but not everyone can create their own diesel, weld, plumbing, create electricity, engineer, farm, etc. Those who adapt, survive.
4. Friends and family.
I was at my dad's house the other day. I had my .45 with me. On my way out the door I went to my truck and saw movement next to it....about the size of a black squirrel with a white striped. He already sprayed a coyote or something so I knew he was around.
I quietly muttered an expletive, turned around and went back inside dad's house. I waited until he left the area. I'm not going to chase it away.
It's a good lesson in self defense. You don't have to be dangerous to keep trouble away. You just have to show that you're a very unattractive target for one reason or another.
You do not have permission to pass off this responsibility. /S
I like the information and the back and forth between posters.
Kart’s a good guy and a good poster.
He has never blog pimped and we even worked with another poster “Eaker” who gave Kartographer a site for downloading his prep manual, with zero ads and a clean area.
Eaker did this off his personal website where he likes to brag about being a conservative, his love for God, his admiration for Bush and generally shows off his guns(he never takes them on his boat).
I am on his side for his invaluable service and he makes absolutely “Nada” for his efforts but get plenty of crap for it.
He’s being punished for being a good guy?
LOL
great idea. Cammo cash.
Really?
Am I missing something?
