Perry's opponents have unfairly painted the governor as relaxed on border security, and all too willing to give illegal immigrants a free ride. Presidential politics can be harsh sometimes, and some candidates are all too quick to foster erroneous lies about other candidates in the hope to plant seeds of doubt about how serious Perry is about border security.
The ide Perry is soft on border security is just wrong.
Ramshaw reports In 2005, Perry announced a $10 million state program to boost border patrols and upgrade radio systems along the border, installed hundreds of video cameras, and requested 1,000 National Guard troops along the Texas-Mexico border, but only received 250. In 2009 he supported a since-passed legislation requiring Texans to show a photo identification to vote, and worked to outlaw sanctuary cities.

He does not oppose E-Verify.
He is for it AFTER the flaws have been fixed.
1) Other residents CAN move to Texas.
2) Illegal Aliens are VIOLATING THE LAW of the USA, and are NOT residents of ANY State
3) Perry places them on even par with residents of Texas
4) I am NOT a Santorum supporter — I have opposed Perry’s actions on vaccines, the trans-texas corridor, and the promotion of Mosque building and agreements Perry signed with muslim leaders
Fact is, Perry is FINISHED in the GOP race, because of the in-state tuition for illegal issue. You blame everybody but the person that signed the Bill.
[Rhode Island just passed the same in state tuition law a few weeks ago.]
Thanks. It’s amazing to read all these comments when you know that ONLY 4 states clearly PROHIBIT instate tuition to illegals.
Perry needs to make up his mind as to whether he's the governor of Texas or a representative of Mexico.
As Many As 600,000 Illegal Aliens May Be Registered To Vote In Texas
No, why?
Why don’t you read the link?
I have noticed jails have cameras, fences and armed guards as well to keep criminals out of our society.
A few escape over time, but it’s generally effective.
People attempting to enter this country outside of legal regulations are by definition conducting a CRIMINAL act, which if successful, makes them CRIMINALS!
Why don’t you stop using your SWAT TEAM skills on people getting high, domestic disputes, and running around popping family pets, and take them to the border where you can do some good?
I dare you to call me a racist, ignorant, stupid, disgusting or any other ad-hominem crap. Do it punk. Make my day.
I am familiar with the Texas situation. Once Senate Bill 14 (Perry’s bill) goes into effect, I hope that will get a few of the illegals off the rolls. It will take a while, but Perry’s leadership on this issue has finally got the ball rolling.
After 11 years...
I think we can both agree it’s a good thing. They’ve been working on this since at least 2007. It’s a tough thing to get done.
"One concern is that undocumented immigrants have registered to vote in Texas. Since no identification is required to register to vote , undocumented immigrants could register. In prior years, no id was required at the polls so it is possible that many non-citizens could have registered to vote and illegally cast ballots. Texas does not issue drivers licenses to illegal immigrants so many without identification could be turned away at the polls. Senator Frasers bill requires voters to show a valid government-issued photo ID such as a Texas drivers license, Department of Public Safety identification card, state concealed handgun license, U.S. military ID or U.S. passport to vote in elections."
A new Texas Voter ID law signed by Perry that Obama's federal DOJ is trying to block - and you think that makes Perry look bad?
I will provide you two links separately.
Rick Perry also spent $400 million to defend the Texas-Mexico border. So what is he? Schizoid, or is there more to the story about that $33 million?

“Cain, on the other hand, has no record of tough decisions in government. I’m not going to give him a pass. He hasn’t earned it.”
Now that statement is simply brilliant!
Usually the leftist press downplays this problem of illegals voting in our elections, as they did when Perry muscled through the Voter ID law to combat this this past legislative session.
I reported on city and county elections in Del Rio, Texas, on the border, for 6 years. I can definitely say that the elections on the border are fairly wrought with voter fraud.
I also helped John Faulk’s CD 28 congressional run against Sheila Jackson Lee in 2010. Google King Street Patriots to read all about the voter fraud in Houston.
Perry has done much about this, to include tightening absentee (mail-in) voting laws and now Voter ID. And this is a STRONG reason to support Perry.

Joe
Yep. Perry is schitzo when it comes to illegals. He is not to be trusted, period.
How about some truth for Perry’s immigration record?
