Despite businessman Herman Cain's stunning rise in the polls, conservative columnist George Will said Sunday that Cain does not merit serious attention from President Obama's reelection campaign.
Will said on ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour" that Cain has not shown that he has staying power and that without a traditional campaign infrastructure, it's not clear that he is a serious candidate.
"We're having a kind of Andy Warhol primary where everybody is leader for 15 minutes and Cain's turn today but it's not clear that Cain has staying power," Will said. "He's not running for president, sort of strolling for president without an infrastructure. It's pretty and cute and nice but whether or not it works we can be doubtful."
Will said that President Obama's campaign strategy will be to go after the Republican candidate because his administration's "record isn't particularly appetizing."

If you’re ignorant of Cain, it has to be deliberate ignorance, because politically and socially he is a wide open book.
Years of consistent commentary on his radio program make him the very best known candidate.
Let's get this straight. Cain HAS RUN before. He lost once, and dropped out the other time.
If he was successful, then he'd be "career." Now he is just an aspiring "politician."
So, no, he is not a career politician--but not for the lack of trying.
Not in the general election. He has already admitted his 999 plan is a tax hike, but it is a broad-based tax hike on those who can least afford it. People paying capital gains tax are not as affected as those who don’t have much capital to be taxed. Anyone paying no taxes or in the 10 percent bracket would have to be a fool to go for this, especially those in California or New York who are already paying 9 or 10 percent sales tax.
Good luck with this. Everyone trying to show they’re not racist or not part of the “elite,” whatever that is.

By the way what do you call someone who’s been in one office or another more than half his adult life? Me I call them a insider connected politician, but that’s just me.
I supported Thompson last time around. In my opinion, he was, by far, the best of the field. But, when it came down to the actual running, Thompson ambled along, never doing the work necessary to actually win a primary.
Cain has time. We'll see how he handles Iowa. If he starts to resemble Thompson, though, I won't hesitate to switch to, um, well, I don't know.
I will not, however, follow someone blindly again who won't go out and work for votes. I've become very suspicious of sweet-talking candidates who never actually act like candidates.
I’ve listened to Cain on the radio for years. I really like what he has to say. But it’s just that - talk.
Do you think talking about politics on the radio is the same thing as working through the political process while in office?

Cain was on a book tour and got swept up in this Perry-Romney war. He’s Romney’s useful idiot. He is endearing, but woefully unprepared to be the federal government’s chief executive. He wants to electrocute Mexicans and doesn’t know what the Palestinian’s “righ to return” is. Hell, even *I* know what the Palestinian issues are, and I’m just a stupid west Texas redneck.

Perhaps. Is it unreasonable to make that assumption? After all Mr. Will is a memmber of the dominant media, and I've seen the attempts by so-called journalists like O'Donnell to smear Mr. Cain with racist stereotypes of cowardess and of being an Uncle Tom. Mr. will of course is more subtle in his innuendo, and I have grown weary of giving the representatives of the MSM the benefit of the doubt.
When Gregory asked Mr. Cain who he read for foreign policy information he said "George Will and Charles Krauthammer" and he also said he likes Henry Kissinger. That is not a smear, that is what Mr. Cain said himself and all you have to do is go and watch the video of that interview.
Cain’s support has popped up by 20% in just two weeks.
Apparently Will thinks he could have done better.
I’ve seen Special Olympians run more smoothly than some of these other guys. So I’m not entirely sure what George’s problem is.

Rick Perry also served his country. And that is a huge benefit to have a president with active duty military experience.

Of all the jobs created in Texas under Perry, 40% went to illegal aliens, 40% went to non-citizen immigrants, and only 20% went to US citizens.
US citizens in Texas under Perry experienced consistent net loss of jobs.

A retarded monkey on moonshine could come up with better than that. The guy’s got the longest resume of anyone in the field, including ballistics expert in the military. Perry hasn’t exactly been tearing it up in debates.
