Next time you call a talk radio station, beware: The FBI may be listening.
According to WMAL.com, "The FBI has awarded a $524,927 contract to a Virginia company to record as much radio news and talk programming as it can find on the Internet.
The FBI says it is not playing Big Brother by policing the airwaves, but rather seeking access to what airs as potential evidence." The agency's reasons for recording all these radio programs don't get any clearer as the news report goes on. No doubt that is intentional.

When government gets too big, nonsense such as this is inevitable. Omama’s paranoia just makes it worse. It starts as a half million dollars and will balloon as all government projects do. Vote for candidates that are for smaller government, less taxes (never feed the beast) and limited government as set out in the Constitution before the courts mis-interpreted it to allow all sorts of intrusive powers.

Don't most of these talk shows have webpages with searchable, archived transcripts? I know that
Rush Limbaugh has one, as do many others. Or is this leak simply a way of telling the people who would call into these shows, "You are being watched"

How about if everyone who calls in any show is Mike from Pittsburgh?Good idea! Maybe every female caller can be "Nancy from San Francisco" and every male caller can be "Rahm from Chicago."
To: opentalk
Is there any doubt they are also monitoring places like FR and the like, recording comments and user ID’s? (tin-foil hat alert)

Funny that they leave out the crucial bit, and dont explain what they want evidence *of*. Evidence of the need for further government evidence gathering and intervention.
This is ham handed intimidation like the toll free hot lines. It is a warning that you better watch your step if you speak out against dear leader.

It’s not so tin-foil, really.
I’d think that the level of electronic eavesdropping required is more likely the domain of the NSA than the FBI, though.
Think “Echelon”.

If there is somebody they should be listening into its Leftist Talk Radio. The Norman Goldman show to be exact. He for several weeks has been asking his callers to rig the election.

Concur. NSA doesn't have delusions of grandeur, but Holder's DoJ, Napolitano’s DHS, and Mueller's FBI do. That is bad for America.

There you go again, umgud, questioning the wisdom of our government. I had to report you to “Fishy” (flag@whitehouse.gov) and “AttackWatch” just in case the FBI somehow overlooked your anti-administration remark.

There has to be a way to verbally flip-the-bird to the FBI when we call in to these shows."Oh, and goodnight Mrs. Hoover, wherever you are."

From an old George Carlin routine:
“I had a friend who knew he was being wiretapped, so he always answered the phone ‘Hi, F**k Hoover...yes, go ahead...’.”

The only way this could conceivably be potential evidence is if the FBI was pretty sure it had the ability to track down the identity of Mike from Pittsburg. If they know when he called in, they can get phone company records that would lead them back to Mike's phone.

Like the scene in Goodfellas, where Robert DeNiro goes and wakes up the guys in the car that have been following him, “C’mon, F-—os, let’s go for a ride.”
