If Cain Could Become ‘The Color of Water He Would Do It’

A day wouldn’t be complete without a left-wing member of the African American community, or, media, attacking GOP presidential contender Herman Cain’s “blackness.”

In this instance, MSNBC host Martin Bashir brought TheGrio.com columnist Goldie Taylor on his Friday program to again criticize Cain for suggesting racism is no longer a factor holding African Americans back from attaining success in America. Taylor asserted that “If he [Cain] could become what I would call the color of water, he would do it.”

“You’ve got to wonder which country Herman Cain is living in or which planet, for that matter,” Taylor said.

“Planet Cain!” Bashir exclaimed.

Taylor, who believes Cain is trying to “placate the base,” said, “he’s after is a right-wing ultra-conservative base that does not want to either see racism as a dilemma or see it as an attack on them.”

To which Bashir replied, “Goldie, you‘re almost saying that he’s trying to denude and diminish his own ethnicity in order to win that base, is that what you’re saying?”

“That‘s exactly what I’m saying,” Taylor stated.

“What I’m saying is that if he can shed his ethnicity today, if he could become what I would call the color of water, he would do it. He would do it in an effort to prove that he and people just like him could fit in anywhere and have the same level of success no matter what their race, ethnicity or gender happen to be. That just doesn’t happen to be the case. And so, would he shed it? I think he would.”

Misleading headline, Cain never said any such thing.

Cain is proud to be black, as anyone who just read his new book would know.

Yes I read it, which is why I made my point - someone reading ONLY the misleading headline would think Cain said that, whereas in reality it was some leftard.

Maybe just maybe he is the one that can fulfill MLK’s dream whereby a man can be judged by the content of his character and NOT by the color of his skin.

This is what happens when a man believe what MLK said.

He gets attacked.

Being black does not hold back a person, the lack of a work ethic and belief that because they are black they are being held back is what is hurting them.

How many of these kids will get hired?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk2JFfkzefo&feature=related

This is what is holding black kids back, not their color.

Grow up get some real role models like Herman Cain, study in school, work hard, get out of the gangs, and you too can be a success, then be called an Uncle Tom by the rest of those idiots who hate you for your hard work and success.

That is why they oppose Herman Cain. Black people are holding themselves back, it isn’t whites that are doing it.

I am as white as they come..from good English stock...but when I think of Cain...I think of him not as black...but I think of him as an articulate businessman, who doesn’t pull punches, who tells things like they are, a man who has not been steeped in DC culture. I see a man who is a bit of fresh air in a room full of stuffiness. His race has nothing to do with why I like him.

I agree, racism is not holding blacks back these days...I believe it is the slave mentality that is holding some of them back. I had a dog once who was trained to not leave the yard if she was wearing her chain. The chain was not attached to anything...but she still would not venture out of the yard. The reality was that she was free to go wherever she wanted...but in her mind..the chain was attached. I am venturing a guess that the chain is still there mentally for many black Americans...it’s a battlefield in their own minds...it allows them to blame others for their plight...when in reality all they need to do is step off the plantation grounds and get on with life.

Isn’t it amazing how we conservatives don’t really “see” or care about Herman Cain’s “blackness”. His “blackness is not the issue or the reason we love him. We love him for his stance on the issues, his honesty, his values, his ability to get the message across to people without reading a teleprompter.

It is the liberals who love to point out and talk about one’s “blackness”, as if it was of importance. When is black America going to understand that it is not the conservatives who are racists?

Misleading headline...I agree it should be;
MSNBC’s Lefty Bashir Lets Guest Throw Cains Color Cheap Shot

Then do the narrative from that viewpoint

Just another desperate attempt by the left to keep fanning the flames of racism to keep it alive. Cain is hitting exactly the right tone with his attitude and statements and at least on this issue, he is clearly resonating positively with any thinking person....which is exactly why you hear these heads exploding on the left dumb statements. Cain is exposing the left for what it is and laying it bare.... I love it.

I just don’t get the color fetish coming from the left. I’d almost think they’re racist.

Blacks , women, or anyone a part of any minority are supposed to be Democraps.

Any exception to the above like Sarah Palin or Herman causes a great disturbance in the force and brings out extreme hate.

It's a good thing the left has no clue just how much Cain benefits from their obvious racism. Denigrating him for being a successful black man works to much to his advantage. It shows them for what they are: angry, racists who won't accept anyone who doesn't buy their version of the truth. And, it draws yet more attention to a charismatic man who's unapologetically conservative, black, and successful.

Sounds like a good campaign theme for Cain over Obaama:

"Like Chocolate For Water"

...or even...

                                CAIN

vs.

        OBAMA

By the way, can anyone photoshop that top one to read "9-9-9% CAIN"...?

Cheers!

" I am an American. Black. Conservative. I don't use African-American, because I'm American, I'm black and I'm conservative.

I don't like people trying to label me. African- American is socially acceptable for some people, but I am not some people."

~Herman Cain
