The only way to address this is an amendment to the US Constitution ending the income tax. No need for you to actually let facts get in the way of your rants. Cain also addressed superseding the 16th amendment.
You are acting like a sniveling Ronulan.

999 - it’s the mark of Cain.

This sneaks “national sales tax” into the conversation WITHOUT a push to end the income tax. It is a bald-faced grab for more money.

Now you’ve REALLY done it — added facts to your logic. You aren’t playing by the rules of this thread!!

Taxula will get his fangs in you one way or the other... In the end, citizens are the ones that either stand up to the blood sucking tax code or don’t... no new tax plan without a repeal of the 16th amendment is the way to start... whether its a flat, fair or national consumption tax, make it so politicians cannot mess with it...

The sales tax idea is going nowhere as long as you have to pay FICA and Medicare Taxes. You haven't read Cain's plan.

I heard Cain speaking to Shawn Hannity about this, and Shawn’s complaint was that it sounded like Cain was abandoning the fair tax for his 999 plan.
Herman’s response was that his 999 plan was a transition program TO the flat tax... where he would follow up the 999 plan after a few years with the flat tax by eliminating 2 of the 3 9s.
I too am concerned about what keeps future governments from upping Cain’s ante... Cain said that there would be no risk of that, but did not specify why or how it would be prevented.
Nevertheless, Cain is my candidate. Just because he is elected doesn’t mean his 999 plan will pass.
Most likely, he will succeed in at least eliminating most of the current tax code in favor of something more equitable and simple. Again... CONGRESS is the governing body on that issue... not the president... so people shouldn’t worry so much about 999.

I thought the 9-9-9 was to remove FICA and Medicare taxes.
However, I have another question. If I have to pay 9% personal and it is a known fact that corporations do not pay taxes because they are included in the price of goods that we purchase, so I am also paying the 9% corporate and the 9% sales tax when I purchase those goods.
Is my rate now 27%?

No more using the tax code to encourage or discourage behavior
I've been saying it for a while now myself. High corporate taxation is the incentive to fund campaigns and buy congressmen. Eliminate those taxes and you'll go a long way toward cleaning up Washington.

Sorry but you cannot do that. You must bridge from one tax to the other. You cannot abolish the current system with nothing to replace it.
Again, answer the question.
Why are you so afraid of the 9-9-9 plan and not of Congress simply raising existing tax rates?
This argument that because no system of taxation will be utterly perfect we must cling to our current corrupt failed income tax system is nonsense.
No replacement system will be perfect. There will be flaws in any replacement

IT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL THAT THE INCOME TAX AMENDMENT BE REPEALED BEFORE A NATIONAL SALES TAX IS IMPLEMENTED.
That being said, I still support Cain and hope that he can be convinced of this.

no way, I would rather have a sales tax. I make decent money but don’t buy much other than food and occasionally clothing. I look for stuff used on craigslist before I buy new. I want the idiots on welfare buying plasma tvs at walmart to help out too.

Agree that another tax uncontrolled isn’t a good idea. This really isn’t too far removed from Fair Tax, except that to me it’s a lot less convoluted.
Making this plan work would take work and determination. It would have to have the total cooperation of Congress and an Administration to make sure the other progressive taxes (IRS) are abolished, etc.
Were Cain in charged and we owned the House and Senate, we might, just might ram this through just like Obamacare was foisted on us. Hell, if we did it right, we’d dump Obamacare, the IRS, AND replace our tax structure all in one fell swoop!...the Dems would howl like stuck pigs!....I’d love to be there....

The sales tax idea is going nowhere as long as you have to pay FICA and Medicare Taxes. I thought the 9-9-9 was to remove FICA and Medicare taxes. It does. It also repaces the double taxation in the ucrrent system. For example in the current tax code capital gains are taxed then taxed again as income. In 9-9-9 you pay one flat rate 1 time.
