FTR, I am 100% in favor of removing the hand out incentives, 100% in favor of slamming the border shut, 100% in favor of deporting anyone who gets arrested and is illegal, and 100% in favor of kicking out of office liberals who write policies that work against any of the above.

In debates, his eyes glaze over as he realizes the train has left the station without him.

That is not true.
It is a flat out falsehood.

I was not in those businesses specifically, so I have no reason to doubt what you said.

But that doesn’t change the fact that they dominate the lower paid industries as well. Those two concepts are not mutually exclusive.

Of course, what you just said contradicts those who say they are paid low and paid under the table.

You claim to have paid workers (Americans) “under the
table”, but criminal illegal aliens the American way.
You claim this is >20,000 people.

How many in each category, Newbie?

Perry's come up with some really dumb non-sequiturs---but this one takes the cake.

Here's Perry’s debate answer WRT what he’d do if the White House phone rang at 3 AM......informing him that the Taliban had gotten control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.

“Well, obviously, before you ever get to that point, you have to build a relationship in that region. And that’s one of the things that this administration has not done. Just yesterday we found out through Admiral Mullen that Haqqani has been involved with — and that’s the terrorist group directly associated with the Pakistani country — so to have a relationship with India, to make sure that India knows that they are an ally of the United States.”

Perry went on to tell a story about how the Obama administration wouldn’t sell upgraded F-16 fighters to India. Which never happened.

The 3rd rail for Republicans is coddling illegals and government run healthcare.

Or guns, or abortion, or whatever. But the one thing you really, really, never want to do is insult the people who disagree with you when you want them to vote for you.

I copied this from a great blog:

Jim Geraghty points out the negative reaction to the “don’t have a heart” comment:

According to [Frank] Luntz’s focus group [on Fox News after the debate], this line by Perry was not only his worst moment in the debate, but perhaps the worst moment any Republican has had in any debate since he started doing these debate-watching focus groups….

Hey, Governor, if we wanted to hear suggestions that folks on the Right are heartless we would have tuned in to watch a bunch of Democrats….

If Rick Perry wants to argue that allowing children of illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition rates is better for the state, he can and should say so. But every time he suggests that those who disagree have cold-hearted or hateful motives, he alienates Republicans who might otherwise support him.

That's a pretty heady quote from Lunz, saying it's the worst result of any focus group he has ever had. We'll see, but I hope he is toast, he's not the conservative his supporters claim he is. We can do better.

OK TEOG is limited to 2 year community colleges or Vocational Schools and it says residents so there may be a loophole there.

It looks like the TEXAS grant is good for any college in Texas.

So it appears that you are correct, although I see no mention of Illegal status mentioned in either of these programs.
It does appear that any “resident” could take advantage of them.

I stand corrected.

But let’s not get in a food fight. Let’s just see how things play out. And like I said, since you no doubt know plenty of folks who want these great jobs, I’m sure there will be no problems getting them filled. I bet you could fill out a list right now.

LOL,

You can snark at me all you want to, I'm not going to get upset. But come on Man, you know you want to break out in the open and shout "we need illegal aliens, so all you folks stop whining and let me make my money like I always have!"

Dodging, weaving and snarking at other posters doesn't work real well here an FR. You want to say it so bad, it is leaking out slowly in your continued posts anyway, so just say it! loudly and clearly.

And if I’m right, I’m right. If I’m wrong, I will actually be thrilled to be wrong. I mean, I really hope to be. But I know the make up of the 10 thousand plus folks who walked through my doors over the years looking for work.

Let's see 10,000 plus folks (say, wasn't it 15,000 plus in one of your earlier posts?) who were looking for work.

So, since you've already ruled out that Americans want to work, these 10,000/15,000 plus CAN'T have been Americans.

And since you've already indicated that only illegals want to work, than one is forced to deduce that however many you hired WERE NOT AMERICANS!

And if they were not Americans, then .....

Come on Man, just stand tall and shout it out: "I'm a businessman who wants the cheapest labor (ummm, most cost-effective labor) I can get."

Or, of course, you can continue to dodge, weave, and snark at me and other posters.

I'll give you the last words and let FR readers judge our comments for themselves.

Guest workers have no path to citizenship, they go home when there is no work, they only come in when employers can't get Americans for the jobs.

Perry's guest worker program would reward illegals already in our country over those who didn't come here illegally.

Oh I agree, that's why we need a guest worker program. That way they are registered, and when there is no work they have to go home. When we are fully employed and they need pickers etc. then they can bring them in and whoever brings them in is financially responsible for them. In other words, if one gets fired, the "boss" has to report them immediately. They either have to have another job or go home.

Right now they are everywhere, working on papers and with identities that do not belong to them.

If you want this fixed, then we have to do something about registering them.

You have a guest worker program, and someone is caught working without a worker's permit, they get tossed out and they can never get a permit again. With a guest worker program, there is no path to citizenship. Actually, those who get in line at home will be the only ones who can come in and have a path to citizenship because they applied for immigration.

OK smart ass:
What you want to break out and say is “man, I didn’t have the balls to start a business and take risks, and I really resent those that do.”

You secretly fantasize down deep about being the boss, being in charge, you lust after the notion that anyone would give a damn about your decision - but alas, you never get to make any of consequence. That is unless you referee little league games to get your power trip fantasy fulfilled.

And you can add “that I really have class envy - it’s like liberals almost”

C’mon Col, you know you want to say that. You know you want to “break out and say it” You know you do. Its leaking out. Actually, your jealousy and class envy are pouring out. ///ss

OK: enough of the sarcasm and snark.

You don’t know a damned thing about me - and I don’t know a damned thing about you. I hope I demonstrated that with the ridiculous fake rant I just threw.
