Oh I agree, that's why we need a guest worker program. That way they are registered, and when there is no work they have to go home. When we are fully employed and they need pickers etc. then they can bring them in and whoever brings them in is financially responsible for them. In other words, if one gets fired, the "boss" has to report them immediately. They either have to have another job or go home.

Right now they are everywhere, working on papers and with identities that do not belong to them.

If you want this fixed, then we have to do something about registering them.

You have a guest worker program, and someone is caught working without a worker's permit, they get tossed out and they can never get a permit again. With a guest worker program, there is no path to citizenship. Actually, those who get in line at home will be the only ones who can come in and have a path to citizenship because they applied for immigration.

without the guest worker program, employers would be able to fill the jobs with American workers who need jobs. The employment rate is at a level that it is stupid to be offering our jobs to illegals. People are desperate for work and at this point, will take anything to earn money to pay their bills. Making it possible to hire illegals just means they can get workers at a rate much lower than Americans will work for. What employer wouldn’t be willing to take advantage of that?
