Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy has an important column in which he argues that the Solyndra fiasco is not just a garden-variety scandal, but a criminal fraud that should land someone, inside and/or outside of the Obama administration, in the slammer.
The facts are very bad. Solyndra was a money-loser from beginning to end. Its business model was untenable. The Bush administration turned it down for funding. Its owners wanted to do a public offering; for that purpose, they had to have their books audited and a report written by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The report was more or less an obituary for the company:
[O]utside auditors from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) found that condition to be dire. “The company has suffered recurring losses from operations, negative cash flows since inception, and has a net stockholders’ deficit,” the PWC accountants concluded. Even with the gigantic Obama loan, Solyndra was such a basket case that PWC found “substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern.”

When you don’t have the scumbag media in your pocket it is difficult to drive these things home to the public relentlessly everyday 24/7 much like the rats when they were outside the box and not in control (out of control)aside from thier continual screaming and footstomping.Seems like the average 3 second news viewer in this country is satisfied with “Bush did this”.

The U.S. Justice Department, a tool of Obama's tyranny, is engaging in a cover-up of the criminal acts of its own hierarchy and of the President himself regarding this Solyndra rip-off.
With Eric Holder ordering actions by the Justice Department and the FBI, no justice in the Solyndra matter will ever be possible and nobody will ever go to trial. Any defendants, to save their own hides, could easily expose the President and his cronies as accessories to the crime.
The United States is now run like a tin-horn, African s***hole by a dictatorial and ruthless strongman.

Obama has completely flouted the law to undermine all respect for the legal system in the United States.
We have one new federal government program proposal after another for which there is absolutely no money to fund but unlimited cash to give away to cronies of the emperor.
This is an outright theft of American taxpayer money, and it’s not from future payers, but from current payers.
There is a perfect storm here to force the mainstream media’s hand.
It is not complex, fits a pattern, and is suitable for bumper stickers and sound bites. People are already feeling duped, having been sold a bill of goods in Barack Obama and his brand of crony socialism.
If the media attempt to carry his water on this one, they’re dead.
I can envision a scenario in which Obama/Holder throw some important players under the bus (via indictments) just to get this story behind them by 2012. In that case, they will deal with the issue, but in a way they can control and manipulate. The DOE head, e.g.
This is fraud, period. The more I hear, the more livid I become.
If the repubs do not prosecute this by all means, it is only because they have pulled off the same shams/scams themselves in the past, or plan to do so in the future.
Pray for me that my blood pressure does not rise to a dangerous level, but this has been going on since the 80s real estate scandals, in which a local bank president saying the acts of local defaulting lenders were not prosecuted due to politics, but if he or I did what they, we would be in prison.
Why have two party political system if one party does not keep the other party in check?

...I don't doubt they will try, but the problem for Obama & Biden is that they personally took part in this scam - not just in some "unrecorded, behind closed doors" White House meeting - but in televised, public speeches from Solyndra's HQ. Jon Stewart sums up the liberals gut-wrenching angst about this ugly fact very humorously in his "Gift wrapped scandal the GOP has been waiting for" rant the other evening.
...your statement is right in the money. This is ugly. As a manager, I have been in a position of politically defending some of my prized employees against attacks from other departments or higher ups - right up to the point when that prized employee does something too dumb and indefensible - then I am forced to drop my support for that person to save my own hide. Solydra is dumb & indefensible & both the media & other Dem's know it.
The bad news in all of this is that despite what the media would have us believe, Solyndra was far from an isolated case. There are at least 4 or 5 more firms just like Solyndra who are reportedly on the verge of filing Chapter 11 as well. When that happens the whole Regime will come screaming down in flames, and will only ensure an even bigger landslide defeat for the Dhimmies in 2012.
Stand by for high winds and heavy seas. This is about to get even uglier....

Interesting title. I liked the movie with George C. Scott. You can’t con an honest man. I’ll never forget the scene in the movie where the farmer is running just as fast as he can because he thinks he’s got the wallet with the money. That’s the Democrats. They all think they’re getting a wallet full of money from their Democrat politicians, when in reality, their Democrat politicians give them a wallet full of cut up green paper. The sad part is the old media tells them that it’s really money and they fall for the con over and over again.
