Suit yourself. The truth is plain: Palestine may not be a real country, but that doesn’t mean it can’t become one. The Palestinians may not have existed as a people just 60 yeras ago, but that doesn’t mean they can’t become one.

Palestine was derived from Philistine or the people of Philistia around 12BC. It derives from the Latin pronunciation.
What possible purpose was there to mention the unspeakable tragedy of the exposure of new world peoples to old world diseases (the magnitude of which we are only now coming to grips with). You brought it up. How does this relate to the current Israel/Palestinian disputes?
Because while Israel would be forced to accept a Palestinian “state”..the Palestinians would never accept the right of Israel to exist as a state. Also Israel would not have total control of airspace and frontier security to protect themselves.....
If they do the US should declare we are suspending all funding to the UN! (hey a Freeper can dream can’t he?) lol...
That way when Israel is attacked by Hamas/Palestine they can declare war on those POS's.

Nations often don’t start off in the best of circumstances. Many come about because of war and other upheavals. Most likely Palestine as a nation will be born in chaos and bloodshed. How long will it last as a state? I have no idea.
To stick up for the Polish People being compared to Palestinians is a real insult to Russian politicians...! ;>

I stated my point. Comparing American, and Canadian, and Mexican and Brazilian and Chilean (etc.) history to the current Palestinian/Israeli situation is insane.
You pretty much identify the crux of the problem of a self-declared Palestinian state.
Internal Palestinian politics alone will demand they claim all the territory of Israel as being a part of their state. At which time, a state of war - real war -will come into being between Israel and the nascent Palestinian state, whatever they decide to call themselves.
Having abstracted themselves from underneath the protection and restraint Israel must presently show towards them, the Palestinians will now be subject to the fury Israel would show toward any state that threatened its existance.
It wouldn’t be a long war. I just hope they deal decisively with ALL their Arab and Muslim enemies, not just the Palestinians.

There need to be no blood shed. If the Palestinian leaders accept the existence of Israel and pledge to live at peace with them they can have their State and the future will be wonderful. As long as the Palestinian leaders take blood oaths to destroy Israel at the earliest practical date then Israel, and all rational people will resist a Palestinian State.
No such pledge can have any relation to reality of performance. The "Palestinians" have had three generations of intense education of their children into hatred and genocide. No pledge of reform can change the resultant mindset. It would require intense Israeli control of "Palestinian" society and education for three generations more, until the current Palestinians are all dead or have Alzheimers. It would take, essentially, real and intense colonization of Palestine and probably Jordan and a wall around the whole place for those three generations to render the "Palestinians" capable of civilization.
2. Because every time Israel would retaliate for a rocket attack or some other terrorist act originating in the “Palestinian State”, the Palestinian state could claim invasion!
3. Also it rewards terrorism again!

Did Israel establish itself without waging a guerilla war against the British in Palestine? No.
Often nations insist on establishing themselves in bloodshed because that is part of the newly born national identity.
