Please tell me there are more important things in this world than stamping out humorous internet memes.
According to the NAACP, the wide-ranging internet meme "You mad, bro?" is racist. The phrase, which is often used when someone loses a game or does something embarrassing, is coming under fire from the association because of a high school banner raised during a football game in Ohio.
The banner in question:
Rodderick Coffee, president of a local chapter of the NAACP, stated, At the conclusion of the game, some of their students and parents put up a sign that we believe was racial intimidation, ethnic intimidation."
Of course, anyone who has ever been on the internet before knows that the phrase is not racist. In fact, even if you've never heard of the meme, chances are that you did not instantly think, "that's racist!" This is most likely because it is not racist.

How about “Don’t tase me, bro”?
Blacks on the internet came up with this damned expression. How the hell can it’s use be racist?
Always the victims...
What isn’t racist?
Why you mad, though?
You dumb Rodderick.
Didn’t you get the memo? Only blacks can say stuff they start.
Obama...
I didn’t get the memo, I got the meme
How is that racist?
I’ve never heard the term ‘bro’ used in that context, but in Hawaii the them ‘brah’ and ‘braddah’ are used in pidgeon all the time to refer to males. Haoles who use it are considered crass or pandering.
Anyway, all this pop culture cr@p is so boring.
I’d accuse the parents involved of being low-brow and trying to seem ‘hip’ with their kids generation, which is disgusting enough without throwing in the racist cr@p.
Cries of racism ensued, etc.
NAACP: Breathing is racist.
The NAACP is racist.
The National Association of Always Complaining People are constantly in search of racism. If they can’t find it, they’ll invent it.
Otherwise, their whole existence comes into question.
in the words of Chad Ochocinco, “Child please”
Is this surfer dude racist when he uses the word, “bro” (although he pronounces it like ‘brah’)?
