When Evergreen Solar announced it was filing bankruptcy this week, the news sparked a flurry of stories pointing out how the “green” solar panel company had received money from the federal stimulus.
The Massachusetts-based company was held up as another example of wasted taxpayers’ dollars under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
But Evergreen Solar may be a better example of just how complicated and difficult it can be to track the massive $821 billion federal stimulus.
Because despite the White House and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick both citing Evergreen Solar as receiving stimulus money, the government’s website that tracks ARRA spending could find no evidence the solar panel company did indeed get that money...

Evergreen already shipped all the remaining jobs they had in Mass to China. They took the money and played the system.
You can bet a lot of porkulus money wound up in Barry’s 2012 campaign fund, with enough slopping over into the DNC’s coffers to make it easier to buy votes with “walking around money.”
Hey...it was only TAXPAYER money. It isn’t as though it belonged to anyone IMPORTANT. Or anyone who would MISS it! Kind of makes me wonder how much “stimulus” money was actually used to stimulate Obama Campaign 2012!

Any bets that the up coming jobs speech will be chock full of fabulous green jobs. Oh, and they will be shovel ready jobs....no kidding.
We will never know where all our money went under 0’s stimulus...where’s that web page we were suppose to be able to go to, to check out the stimulus processing? What fraud!

$5.5 billion to Michigan with a claim of 10,000 jobs created. (I’m guessing mostly census jobs that are long gone now)

Interesting...I have screengrabs from recovery.gov showing that Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) and her husband have received OVER $3 million in Stimulus funding for their Section 8 housing projects, but now that information has been scrubbed from recovery.gov. I suspect they “redirected” the beneficiaries to show local housing authorities receiving the money to cover their tracks.
Everyone remember the stimulus money that went to nonexistent congressional districts? This is theft, pure and simple.
The records must be in the same place as the birth certificate......
Wow, we spent so much money that we don’t even know who we gave money to.
Wonder who else got money that we lost track of.
Imagine the opportunity here to defraud the government, it obviously can’t keep track or even account for funds.
I remember a story that said that all government agencies didn’t know what they had spent except for the Defense Department. If this is trued, this shows not only can’t Obama be a leader, he can’t even be an administrator.
I’d like to know how much was spent on signs put up at stimu-holes to brag about the stumulus money spent.
