I hate this kowtowing to Islam! Worse still is THE CHURCHES kowtowing to Islam! They’re no longer Christian when they do that.

Paul said if anyone brings you a gospel other than the one we brought you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED!

“With Perry in the race, the two frontrunners, Romney and Perry will be clones of each other.”

NOT

Some of your conclusions are ridiculous. 2+2 = 5

Halal Law means Halal food must be labeled so. Non halal cannot be labeled halal.

There are similar laws for Kosher.

I would prefer to know if my food has been blessed by an Imam. Therefore you can't have halal food unless it is labeled so.

This guy is a jackass.

""It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here." Patrick Henry

“He may be more authentically Texan than Bush, but the substance of his ideas is the same. NAFTA, education for illegal aliens, and Islam is a great religion.”

Very problematic for me. I get the impression Perry wants to be all things to all people. I want someone who believes in something and stands up for those beliefs, no matter what.

“New Jersey became the first state to enact a halal consumer protect law when the then Gov. Christine Whitman passed the Halal Food Consumer Protection Act in July, 2000. The aim of the bill was to “prevent consumer fraud in the preparation, distribution and sale of food represented as halal”. Violators of the law were to face on their first offense a $7,500 fine and a $15,000 fine on their second offense.

Similar laws were then signed by seven other states. From 2000 to 2008 Illinois, Minnesota, California, Michigan, Texas, New York, and Maryland signed laws aimed at protecting the Muslim consumer. Just looking at the aims and scope of these laws one would assume that Muslims living in these states are protected from fraud in the name of halal. But that is not the case and halal related fraud is on the rise.”

We will become like Europe - just a matter of time.

Also if its going to be halal it must not be touched by infidels...

Therefore only Moslems can at the food processing plants...

There are terrorist elements in all religions/ethnic groups.

I thought that was pre-established?

What's funny is, to my knowledge, none of Perry's opponents have ever brought up any of this tripe against him in any election campaign. (and there's been tons of dirt thrown around, trust me)

And it seems Perry spreads his love around:

Do we have a Kosher law ???

IF you read the article, you would know that we have kosher laws.

Remember, the article is from the perspective of a Jewish commentator. So there is a bit of salt to be taken with the "accusations."

I am not saying the author is completely wrong and should be ignored. There are too many instances where Islam has infiltrated into our gov't where Christianity has not. But if you compare it to the "infiltration" of Judaism into our laws, Islam has a looooong way to go.

It's becoming abundantly clear that Perry is conservative on fiscal issues, but very squishy on other issues such as Islam and illegal immigration. He is not a staunch Conservative on all issues.

So, why is he getting such support on FR? Isn't this a Conservative website?

At this critical time in our history, real Conservatives need to support a tough Conservative who is not an equivicator on the issues we hold most dear. Our nation's survival depends on us being who we are, the frontline of the Conservative Movement.

Forget favorite son status and the like. Be a Conservative and support a real Conservative!

http://www.jta.org/news/article/2011/08/14/3088945/rick-perry-longtime-israel-friend-raises-eyebrows-with-religious-appeal

“Newest entrant into GOP field, Rick Perry, is longtime friend of Israel—and Jesus”

(some quotes from the article)

“Sullum also criticized Perry for seeming to abandon his previous let-the-states-decide view on social issues in favor of amendments to the U.S. Constitution that would outlaw abortion and same-sex marriage everywhere in the country.”

{he was criticized for saying God had called him}

“Nobody criticized Moses for being ‘called,’ ” she said. “The fact that he upholds the Ten Commandments is very important. I like to believe a man of faith has a moral compass.”

No kidding. Considering the U.S. was created on the Judeo-Christian ethic, Jews being involved with our government and Jewish Law from the Old Testament being in part codified into law is not a surprise.

When was the last time the Jews flew jets into a skyscraper and killed thousands? When was the last time Jews beheaded an American contractor on video? When was the last time Jews dragged the mutilated corpses of Americans through their streets?

Islam is a false religion presided over by a false god, and we know who is behind all the false gods. There is a great difference between truth and falsehood. Just a little falsehood has a corrosive effect that we need to guard against.

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil..." - Isaiah 5:20

In other words, woe to us if we accept the lie of Islam as having any legitimacy whatsoever.

Well said. A lot more than our pocketbook is at stake. Continued uncontrolled immigration, particularly Mohammedan immigration, will kill our society as surely as it is killing the societies of Europe.

Perry is weak on immigration. We can and must do better.

"Perry is certainly an improvement on Obama. But in a race where Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, Palin and Gingrich have spoken out about the dangers of Islam-- everyone is gathering to cheer a man who celebrates it.'

I don't know how any intelligent person, in this day and age, can stand anymore "religion of peace" drivelling out of the mouths of American politicians.

agreed.

first, a “friend of Jesus”, doesn’t repeatedly quote the Quran with respect, and praise the religion created by a pedophile, who denies the very divinity of Jesus!!!
there is NO common ground.
“Rick Perry quotes the Koran, and praises Muslims and Islam”
http://governor.state.tx.us/news/speech/5156/

second, Perry:
OPPOSES the Arizona law, which only REPEATS federal immigration law on the state level.
supports AMNESTY.
supports the Texas DREAM act!
Perry doubled the budget.
he is a big-government GOPer, who ordered young girls to be given a mandatory vaccine for sexually transmitted disease.
(the opt-out was a joke. it wasn’t permanent, and required perjury in many cases.)

...yet as you say, a big government, pro-Islam, vaccine authoritarian, pro Amnesty and DREAM Act candidate,
is regarded as conservative here ?

(thanks to mnehring for opening my eyes. i had previously told another Texan, that i planned to vote for Perry!)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2764035/posts
Evangelical Rick Perry’s promotion of filtered islamic history is troubling to most American voters!

= = =
WORSE, Perry claims to be a friend of Israel, and didn’t bother to even read that entire verse. it is ONLY DIRECTED AT JEWS !!!

there is a REASON that Muslims NEVER quote the BEGINNING of that verse!!!
“The Koran teaches that “whoever killed a human being, “

HERE is the entire verse. with the missing initial words:

“That is why We laid it down for the Israelites that whoever killed a human being, except as punishment for murder or other villainy in the land, shall be deemed as though he had killed all mankind; and that whoever saved a human life shall be deemed as though he had saved all mankind. — Sura 5:32. “

“We (Allah) laid it down for the Israelites ...”
not for the Muslims!
Muslims are NEVER executed for killing a non-Muslim...

Seems to me that a lot of people talk a big game when it comes to conservatism but throw themselves at the feet of the first big govt RINO to come along.

Squishy “conservatives” are just as much of a problem as liberals.

Are you trying to prove your liberal credentials? Point out an Amish terrorist. Or are you being sarcastic?
