Manhattan Lefties Talk Palin
The Association of Mature American Citiziens, via Jedidiah Bila's Blog ^ | August 2, 2011 | Jedidiah Bila

Last week I attended a cocktail party on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It’s an unfortunate part of life every now and then for this prefer-a-basketball-game-and-soft-pretzel New Yorker. With that being said, any opportunity to mingle with members of New York City’s left-wing elite serves to provide both a wealth of amusement and—quite often—column-worthy entertainment.

This particular party happened to occur the same day it was revealed that Sarah Palin will be keynoting a tea party rally in Iowa on September 3. So, Palin came up quite a bit. What did some of Manhattan’s finest lefties have to say about her?

Here are the top five sentiments that were expressed throughout the two hours I lasted (special thanks to the veggies and dip for keeping me there long enough to overhear this fun):

5. SHE’S SCARY BECAUSE SHE’LL ACTUALLY DO WHAT SHE SAYS. That’s right, folks. They know she’s the real deal. They know that if she says it, she means it. And that scares the living daylights out of them.

4. SHE’S WAY TOO LIKABLE. They admittedly fell in love with Barack Obama’s charisma, and they know darn well that the only person in the GOP field who can match that—or, dare I say, surpass it—is Palin. P.S.—When someone brought up Mitt Romney, many found that awfully funny.

3. SHE’S NOT AFRAID TO SPEAK HER MIND. Palin’s fearlessness is what unnerves them the most. This group was all too excited for a “more subdued,” “less nervy” 2012 Republican alternative.

2. SHE’S “ANNOYINGLY REGULAR” AND PEOPLE LOVE IT. The fact that Palin would never fit in at their cocktail parties is a plus, and they know it.

1. SHE CAN WIN. “What do you think would’ve happened if Palin had been calling the shots in 2008?” I asked. One poor gentleman looked like he’d seen a ghost. “I think we could very well have had a President Palin,” he replied.

Interesting, isn’t it? Now of course they repeatedly retreated into their left-wing, media-fed talking points about how she’s “inexperienced,” how she’s “a quitter,” and how she’s “just not smart enough to be president.” But it was clear to me that they didn’t actually believe an ounce of it. Sure, they had to say those things. That’s their job—to echo left-wing talking points. But those talking points provided them with no comfort whatsoever.

It showed on their faces.

It showed in their voices.

And it showed in their panicked need to follow up so many of their statements with, “She could win. She could really win.” On that last point, I’d have to say I agree.

Jedidiah Bila is a great Conservative columnist and Fox News contributor, and is taking the fight straight to the commie libs' front door in downtown Manhattan.

I have never heard of this woman; but like her a lot after reading the above.

Her number 5 reason is dead on right. It's the same reason Reagan was so hated.
Most people will tolerate someone they disagree with if they find that person harmless and perceive them to be ineffective.

Believe it or not, liberals can actually be fairly honest and candid when talking among themselves and when they think no outsiders are present. I'm a registered Democrat and attend an occasional party event just to see it up close and personal.

I have lived in the NYC area for sixty years. After decades of business, sports and social activities I know scores of manhattan (and LA) libs/lefties. They are not part of my own inner circle but I do have to interact with them to get my work accomplished. Many are top-to-bottom A-holes but many are not. They are regular people who view the US through a different prism. I deal with them on the levels that I must and ignore them on political issues.

One thing I can state with supreme confidence is that they universally believe that Palin (™) is an utter idiot. I would pass out in place if any of them ever spoke about her in the way this blogger stated.

1000 ways to die

Yesterday episode trashing Sarah Palin and Tea Party.

Last segment of episode: ;mayoral candidate gets the point. (20:00)VIDEO

I like to watch the cable series “A 1000 ways to die” on Spike TV. I have seen how the leftist liberals influence the production of stories.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1000 Ways to Die

1000 Ways to Die is a docufiction television series that premiered on May 14, 2008 on Spike. The program recreates unusual supposed deaths and debunked urban legends[1] and includes interviews with experts who describe the science behind each death. Up until the end of season one, the final story of each episode showed actual footage of dangerous situations that almost ended in death, along with interviews with people involved in the situations. A portion of these deaths have been nominated for or have received a Darwin Award.

She's a Fox News regular, appearing on all the network's major shows, especially Hannity. She also does Talk Radio and is friends with Mark Levin.

I work with a middle age liberal woman and she can’t stand Sarah Palin. She won’t get specific when I ask her why. She just says “I can’t stand her”.

This same woman used to defend 0bama. Now she is silent.

Libs live in their own miserable world.

Thanks, I will definitely look for her. I really like people who will take true conservatism into all corners of the country.

Sometimes I think we have a bunker mentality and sell ourselves short of who we can reach.
Everyone with functioning neurons should be a conservative. Many just haven't heard the message.

There is the possibility dawning on the Left everywhere that after this week of seeing ALL Tea Party Congressional representatives Hold The Line, en masse, that the Left can say these things about EVERY single Tea Party backed candidate, representative and TV personality. In other words, those who can not be bought and intimidated have arrived in Washington and more are coming, hopefully to the White House. These patriots enjoy every single attribute of Sarah Palin and the Left are very nervous. Honesty and integrity has been the Tea Party calling card for ALL of them and not only Sarah. These virtues that they ALL share is endearing, refreshing and makes them ALL likable and viable. This is generally.....wonderful. It will be up to us to put the winner up as our nominee who can actually curb Romney’s increasing lead and then curb Obama.

Yeah, I have to admit that I occasionally tune in to that show when my wife and kids aren’t around, just out of morbid curiosity. Turns out that most of the deaths depicted are either gross exaggerations of real accidents or outright fiction.

And believe it or not, Ron Perlman is the narrator.
