DID YOU KNOW? ACCUSED FT. HOOD GUNMAN IS STILL GETTING PAYCHECK FROM THE GOVERNMENT

Major Nidal Hasan, accused of the 2009 mass shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 dead, has retained his military rank and continues to get paychecks from the government, the base commander said Wednesday.

Lieutenant General Donald Campbell, Jr., the commander of Fort Hood, said Hasan’s confinement and medical expenses are also being paid for by the military, KXXV-TV reported. He receives weekly medical treatment and is occasionally transported to meet with his defense team.

Campbell said the actions are to ensure Hasan gets a fair trial.

“The bottom line is when you cut through everything we are as an army, we have to be fair to him regardless of what we saw or we think we saw or whatever the case may be,” Campbell said. “It’s imperative we maintain the integrity of the court martial so he gets as fair a shot as possible defending himself with his team.”

Until he’s convicted that’s just the way it is.

Why is it taking so long to put this asshole on trial?

I know the military is different but he is innocent right now, so why whine?

They had check out his sanity. I suspect that most military folks want the death sentence for this guy...and if he’s declared insane...you can’t get that sentence. The fact that he kept getting “promote” evaluations via the Army....is going to make it impossible to say that he was insane, in my humble opinion. If anyone had simply wrote one memo, or one letter of counseling to force him to a mental health specialist in the months before act...then this would be an impossible case to try for murder. But no one ever did that.

Yes. Until convicted you are considered innocent.

Some say it is royalties on his past designs for the coup d’etat.

Obama and Hasan knew each other pre-inauguration.

I'm sick of fair! Life is not fair. Do we always have to let the dog bite the hand that feeds him?

What’s the issue? He is still an active duty officer until he is convicted by court martial.

Unfortunate choice of words.

There are some very good men who would be in 20 year lockup right now, or worse, if the fairness of the Court Martial systme had been corrupted. This is not about you or about this Muslim major. It is about how you treat the patriotic men and women who volunteer to serve in uniform and serve well and faithfully.

It is not about you and your petty problems. It is about us, our country and what it is supposed to stand for. And I will spare you the really harsh words that you really deserve.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic There were plenty of witnesses to this atrocity. Someone even recorded it on his cell phone but was ordered to delete it. WTH is taking so long? And why is he still being paid when he obviously is not performing his assigned duties? At the least he should be put on LWOP (Leave Without Pay)!

How would you like it if one of your employees was arrested for a felony and was held without bail and the government forced you continue to pay their salary - even if you got no work out of them?

The issue is that he murdered 12 people two years ago and is still getting 80k a year or whatever an officer makes. You must be a government worker, or just forgot the /s.

What petty problems? You don't even know me. I have no problems. This idiot killed our troops while shouting "Allah Ackbar"

He's still alive so I figure he's been treated fair enough already.

It is also required that he be saluted by soldiers of the rank he murdered

That's too bad. When I worked for NY State, as a civil service employee, if you were badly injured in an accident, or suffered from a severe illness that kept you out of work for over a year, you were terminated. You were required by law to return to work on full duty before that year was up or you were sent packing.

Personally, I don't understand how someone can draw a full paycheck if they aren't performing any kind of official duty in the position they hold. You might as well call it unemployment or welfare at this point.
