This is a basic famine menu that will keep you alive. Variety of taste will come from supplementation from a vegetable garden, fruit trees, raising animals, bartering, spices and additional items you store. Each family must be creative to vary the taste of the foods and to add additional items that will make the basic foods most appetizing for you.

Not sure it’s the worst for the entire state. Texas A&M says it is for the Panhandle of Texas based on the End of January thru July 1st....4.? of rain....... !917 was next year on the worst of the worst for drought with 6.? inches of rain in same period and region.
Just crazy ..... this to shall pass....:o)
We did the shade and foggers on some plants as well as drippers under plastic sheeting that was mulched.
Ground was cool enough that worked. Little more work for gardens and not possible for the farmers and ranchers of course. Tough year...... But it’ll be Ok. Positive outlook. Everything from here has got to be better....LOL !
Stay safe !
Powdered whole milk is pretty darn good. That non-fat stuff will make a person stop liking milk at all.
What if they've been eating grains?????? :^)
Oh, that’s OK; so do deer, cattle, and sheep.
Am experiencing that this and last summer. Current 7 day forecast is 100-102-102-102-102-102-102. Have kept tomatoes and pole beans watered and alive but like you said, prolonged periods of mid-to-high upper 90's and high humidity have caused complete bloom drop. Plants aren't producing a thing. Told my brother yesterday, if we had to live on it, we'd starve. I'm actually thinking of buying some sun shield fabric like greenhouses use to try and shield the plants from the burning sun. Don't know if it would work, but gotta find something that works, just in case we do have to eat off of what we grow.
