The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed to begin collecting data on the race, gender identity, ethnicity, disability status, primary language, sex and sexual orientation of every patient and every citizen.

The federal government needs to hear from you!

DEADLINE - The deadline for your public comments is this coming Monday, August 1st at 11:59 p.m. EDT. However, if you plan to mail your comment by U.S. Post, it must be postmarked today, Wed, July 27.

Major Concerns: · Public comment on controversial data collection asked for during height of summer relaxation. · HHS-manufactured "health disparities" used to advance national health care system. · Intrusive questions at clinic/hospital and on U.S. Census/American Community Survey. · Collection of citizen race and ethnicity data is divisive, not unifying for the nation. · HHS alone determines definitions of race, ethnicity, disability status, gender, etc. · Skewed data - race is a social construct, not an objective reality. · No patient notification of right to refuse to answer questions. · Data used to measure the "quality" of doctors, clinics, and hospitals. · Race, sex, and gender identity data collection may be used to build civil rights lawsuits. · Threat of civil rights lawsuits will discourage the practice of medicine (fewer doctors in future). · Lack of detail regarding data collection plan for gender identity and sexual orientation. · Loss of personal privacy and diminished freedom for patients and doctors. · Race-based (and other data-based) research without the written informed consent of individuals.

If I’m ever so unfortunate as to be asked any of these questions in person, I’m going to act confused and ask for explanations. And I’m going to keep apologizing and saying I don’t understand until I drive whoever it is crazy.

By the time that a few people like us hear about a deadline for public comments it is too late. The fix is in. This is probably a done deal. Sexual orientation identity cards are probably in the works.

I will refuse to answer, and if anyone asks, I will tell them that the right to privacy has been deemed so important that people can kill their unborn children, so there is no way I will even consider such privacy infringement until Roe v Wade is overturned.

When abortion is no longer legal, then I will reconsider before refusing and saying none of your business.
