Bush was a HORRIBLE President! I will never forget when he was being interviewed and was asked, ‘80% of the American public want to stem illegal immigration and a have a secure border’. Bush replied with, ‘well the American people are just wrong’. I guess he forgot who elected him. He was also against declaring English the official language of the US.
I’ve read Bush’s speech to the Building Industry Association and his contention was to support housing for those that could not afford a house. Therefore he continued the disastrous housing crisis that was started under the Clinton administration.
GW was also a big proponent of the New World Order just like his Dad.
GW also started a very controversial war based on false foreign intelligence.
We may have gotten a paltry tax cut but what we mainly got was a moderate(liberal) Republican and ultimately we paid dearly for his reign with Obama getting elected.
“see you at the bill signing”.
Actually, the Bush Administration warned us about Fannie and Freddie. So did Alan Greenspan. So did John McCain, for that matter. So if you didn’t heed the warnings, look in the mirror, instead of finding someone else to blame.
Nice post. IMHO, Bush II was the last president who had the chance to turn this country around. Instead, he made things worse.
Sure, he has 9/11 to cope with, and that made his job so much more difficult. And I’m sure he had the best of intentions. But the bottom line is that he failed on almost every front. And much of that is now nearly irreversible.
You sum it up beautifully.Schrub was just another elite from the ruling class.NO MORE!
Bush pushed the privatization of SS and the reform of Fannie Mae’s loan approval process...but you were too drunk to listen to either.
That doesn’t make Bush a bad President, it just makes you some nobody loser.
“Therefore he continued the disastrous housing crisis that was started under the Clinton administration.”
I disagreed with several stances GW took, but on this one - he tried MANY times over his terms to get Congress to put tougher oversight and regulation on Fannie and Freddy, but due to liars like Frank and Dodd (both of whom personally benefited from their largesse), Congress looked the other way and refused. The housing crisis was not due to lack of trying on GW’s part.
