Nice post. IMHO, Bush II was the last president who had the chance to turn this country around. Instead, he made things worse.
Sure, he has 9/11 to cope with, and that made his job so much more difficult. And I’m sure he had the best of intentions. But the bottom line is that he failed on almost every front. And much of that is now nearly irreversible.
I suspect that he had to do a lot of what he did to stay alive and keep his immediate family alive.
How much he agreed with what he was ordered to do, I don’t know. I like to think not much.
That may be my own fantasy with little foundation for it. Time and eternity will tell.
