Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann released a letter Wednesday from the House Attending Physicians office, confirming that Bachmann suffers infrequently from migraines with aura, and that she can control them well with the use of sumatriptan and odansetron, two commonly used therapies to treat the chronic headaches.
The letters release comes after The Daily Caller reported late Monday that Bachmann has been hospitalized on at least three occasions due to the headaches. Three people who have worked closely with Bachmann told TheDC migraines regularly debilitate her for periods up to several days.
You have a well-established diagnosis of migraine headaches with aura for which you have had extensive evaluation by both my office and by a board certified consulting neurologist. Your evaluation has entailed detailed labwork and brain scans all of which are normal, the July 20 letter from Dr. Brian Monahan says.
You are overall in good general health, Monahan adds.

Good to know. Thanks.
We now know more about Bachmann's health than that of recent sitting presidents!

>>>Little birds tell me Romneys smear machine is behind this hit piece.
You dont need no lil birdies when Tokyo Karl Rove is all over TV about it - hes an establishment guy, so is Willard...

Youre right. The Republican establishment is scared that we will have a conservative president. Rove, Krauthammer, Romney, William Kristol, and that big government wing of the party fear conservatives more than they fear Democrats.
I think Perry is their fall back guy. If Romney isnt leading after South Carolina, they will have him suspend his campaign to help Perry knock out either Michelle or Sarah (which ever is leading then) and they will try to convince people that Perry is a conservative.
The MSM will help in this sales job because to them anyone to the right of Castro is a far right conservative.
I have no love for Romney, but, what makes you think the Dims aren’t behind this?
It’s just amazing to me how people who’ve had no experience with a chronic illness can become experts in a matter of nanoseconds.
I’m 67 years old. In 1978 I got sick with viral colitis. It’s genetic. My dad probably died from it in 1943. They thought it was appendicitis. In any case, many progeny on my dad’s side have it to one degree or another.
Since 1979 I’ve been taking half the normally prescribed daily dose of a sulfa—or sulfa synthetic—drug. I’ve not been ill from colitis since then. Does that make me a drug addict or somehow unfit for public office?
Millions of people have chronic illnesses, but they are manageable and do not materially affect their ability to function—and even excel—on a daily basis.
I have nothing but disgust for people who buy into these “no source” whispering campaigns. Bachmann has been functioning under significant stress for months. For God’s sake the demrats are even going after her foster children. There is no evidence she has had to disappear for days or even hours at a time dealing with migraines.
You would be better served being concerned about The Usurping Marxist Onada’s admitted drug use and what is in his medical records.
For the record, Bachmann is not my first choice for conservative presidential candidate. The Marxists and RINOs relentless and baseless attacks on Palin and her family achieved no significant hits. They’ve shot their bolt. Now they’re going after Bachmann.
Isn’t it the least bit interesting to some of you that Romney, and others in the conservative/GOP presidential candidate field, are not being treated to the same despicable attacks as Bachmann and Palin? Does it occur to you that these two women are who the Marxists fear most right now? And when it becomes clear that West and Cain are gaining significant traction, they will be the next targets. It’s called the politics of personal destruction.
Little birds.
Kiss my behind.
thow some creme in your coffee....you said the right things but not a damned thing as it relates to what bean counter questioned
Bachmann, with this letter, responds appropriately.
I looked up chronic as in liar as opposed to chronic as in medicine.
My mistake.
I thought it was a non issue to began with and so stated. There are many, many other things that make her unfit for the position, but his is not one of them.
” For me, this puts the issue to rest. ...
... her migraines DO NOT seriously affect her ability to function. “

agreed !
i said immediately that the migraines didn’t bother me.
but she must have known this would come out at some point.
why not spin it her own way, even get some sympathy and positive press for it, since she has done so much
(like raising foster kids) in spite of this?
she should be CONTROLLING these things proactively,
not letting them pop up randomly!
hiding it, and then her spokeswoman denying it yesterday,
and refusing to answer about being in the hospital
(all of which are admitted today),
and running from a lone reporter who got knocked down,
is simply clumsy at best.
just like the “John Wayne” thing when she announced.
these things are not being made up by Romney or Rove.
she said “not a penny”, etc. and chose to hide things.
we laugh about Obama’s “57 states” and Gingrich’s 1/2 million Tiffany’s account.
if someone points out her gaffe about John Wayne,
that’s an MSM or Rovian plot?
if she is as good as even i used to believe,
then she simply needs to spend the money to get better people. because she’s clearly been getting bad advice.
(and she did the SAME thing about her taxes, and about her husbands clinic.)
and she was my FIRST choice among declared candidates,
and i’ve praised her greatly for her courageous stance against the Pickford black farmer, and her voting “no” on cut cap and balance, and more!
but this continued hiding things instead of being upfront,
isn’t the Bachmann i always admired.
She has become a walking political calculation who has developed that “what next” aura about her that is destined to keep big donors away.
No thanks. I leave that for you to do.
Ed Rollins came from Bachmann
I agree about the unnamed sources BS. In my post yesterday I immediately threw out the unnamed soures stuff and I specifically dealt with the comments from the only named sourced, the Bachmann spokesman, Stewart.
In my post yesterday, based on the Stewart comments, I specifically said that Bachmann needed to address this issue.
And as I said on this thread, the release of the doctor's letter, appropriately addresses the issue.
I think the important point to note is that beyond the unnamed source BS, there was still an issue that needed to be dealt with. And Bachmann did.
