Liberalism Isn't Just A Mental Disorder
07/11/11 | Alan Levy

Michael Savage is wrong. Liberalism isn't just a mental disorder.

It's the result of having a lobotomy with a rusty and dull scalpel. Here's my proof:

Recently, the commie fingersniffers at Talking Points Memo ran a story about how some bougerois socialist from academia, Susan Feinberg of Rutgers, "caught" Republican Congressman Paul Ryan with two bottles of $350 wine at his table at the swanky Bistro Bis in Babylon...er, uh....Washington DC. The "outraged", and according to Ryan, drunk as hell, Feinberg demanded to know if the men Ryan was eating with were lobbyists. (They weren't. They were economists Cliff Asness and John Cochrane.) After she finished her own very elobarate and expensive meal, Feinberg then marched over to Ryan's table and asked the Congressman how he could live with himself, since he was paying for expensive wine while cutting benefits for poor and elderly. (It should be noted that Ryan paid for his meal and one of the bottles of wine.)

Now, this column is not about defending Paul Ryan. It's about defending capitalism and showing how incredibly stupid the 2+2=5 Left truly is. From the Talking Points Memo propaganda piece:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Feinberg, an economist by training, was even more appalled when the table ordered a second bottle. She quickly did the math and figured out that the $700 in wine the trio consumed over the course of 90 minutes amounted to more than the entire weekly income of a couple making minimum wage.

'We were just stunned,' said Feinberg, who e-mailed TPM about her encounter later the same evening. 'I was an economist so I started doing the envelope calculations and quickly figured out that those two bottles of wine was more than two-income working family making minimum wage earned in a week.' "

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the funny part: Feinberg, as an economist, should know that Paul Ryan's expensive wine actually created more jobs and more wealth than any government program could ever hope to. After all, Ryan's purchase helped to pay the maitre d of the restauant. And the head chef. And the sous chef. And the kitchen porter. And the busboys. And the wine sales rep. And the wine distributor. And the winery. Just like Leonard Read pointed out in his mind blowing essay "I, Pencil", no product on God's green and cooling earth can be produced by just one entity. A product is produced by the effort of countless people and countless numbers of people benefit from its purchase. This isn't just "Right Wing rhetoric", this is an undeniable fact, just as it's an undeniable fact that the countless numbers of people who who benefit from the purchase of a product are also people who purchase products. This creates an endless cycle of wealth redistribution that the government, despite how clever it thinks it is, can NEVER reproduce. (Oh, you don't believe me ? Ask anyone who is a LEGAL immigrant from the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba, or Venezuela how well the forced redistribution of wealth works.)

The reality of the situation is this: the American Left is nothing more than a bunch of bougerois socialists who are economically illiterate morons. They will never understand how their idiotic attempts to help the so-called poor harm everyone. They will never understand the fact that the forced redistribution of wealth creates a far larger wealth inequality than capitalism does. (The politburo always lives better than the proletariat. I can assure you that Hu Jintao, the dictator of China, lives waaaaay better than a slave...er, uh....employee at FoxConn.)

God help us all.

There is one principle that they stand by steadfastly: give money to (or appease) anyone who might possible hurt them

Sometimes it takes someone like you to plainly speak and point out what should be obvious to all but has been buried under mountains of obfuscation and plain B.S.

Thank you! And I believe that this might actually be the core truth of Liberalism throughout history.

I am disturbed by the tone of this article and many of the responses. Just because we disagree with with a political position doesn’t mean we have to insult the people who hold it. The way to change minds is through intelligent, logical debate, not through insults and name calling. There are some who would accuse you of trolling and call for a moderator, but I am not one of those people. I will handle this personally.

If what I said is considered trolling by the moderators here, then you are correct that I am in the wrong place. Please go ahead and call a moderator and lets see. If this is not going to be a productive conversation I should learn that now and we won't waste each others time.

The days of Conservatives being punching bags are over.

Was William Buckley a punching bag? Was Milton Friedman? I don't think so. These polite, strong, intelligent men changed more minds than someone shouting insults could ever hope to change.

Anger is good for motivating a base that already agrees with you. It does not change minds. Rudeness is not a sign of strength, but more often a sign of fear and weakenss.

how do you explain the idiot junior-college professor-types? They're not going to decide jack. They'll be eating tree-bark like the rest of us proles. What's in it for them?

You have to look up r/K selection theory.

In nature, a species will mostly adhere to one of two reproductive strategies. The study of these strategies is called r/K selection theory in evolutionary biology. The r-selected organism will try to survive by reproducing as fast as possible through promiscuity and short term relationships, they will invest as little energy as possible in child rearing, and they will avoid all competition with peers, to maximize survival and success. Clearly the Liberal seeks to avoid all competitions with peers, whether in Capitalism, war, gun control (gun violence with criminals), or even standardized test scores in civil service exams. The Liberal supports promiscuity, and cannot grasp the importance of Family Values – itself an expression of diminished psychological investment in child rearing.

The second strategy followed in nature is called K-selection. K-selected organisms are programmed to compete with each other, they carefully select the fittest mate possible (to maximize offspring competitiveness), and they invest heavily in rearing highly competent offspring as a monogamous couple, to maximize the ability of their offspring to outcompete peers. Clearly, from Capitalism, to war when confronted with threat, to gun ownership, Conservatism is about the freedom to compete with others. In supporting monogamy until marriage, and Family Values, it also shows adherence to the K-selected psychology in mate selection, monogamy, and child rearing.

These Liberal tools likely have "loser" genes, and poor parenting, which produce this pychology in other species in nature. They just want all competition outlawed, as that is how they are programed.

You are mising something. Liberals are different, psychologically. You were a moderate, so you could be convinced by reason.

The True Blue Liberal is a different animal. They can be denigrated into submission, but they will never be convinced by logic.

Ronald Reagan denigrated them, and they eventually began to change their name to progressive, to escape the humiliation of being “Liberal.”

I’m not saying pointless insults are great, but proper denigration is never bad, if it shocks the Liberal into submision, and makes the country reflexively recoil at the name of their ideology.

The bottom line is that this intellectual, “everyone’s opinion has merit” crap is foolish. It just emboldens Liberals. Leftim has killed millions the world over, and it is savaging our country this very moment.

Bear in mind, Buckley was polite as were many of his contemporaries, and throughout his life he found America transition from a country which blacklisted Communists, to a country which elected one as President.

The only guy who turned the Liberal tide was Reagan, and he did it by denigrating Liberals in public, to their faces. I say give me more of what works.

I will NEVER be civil to those who want to take my rights from me, my family, or my friends. I will NEVER be civil to those who want to STEAL my private property.

I am not looking to convert the Ignorant Left. I am looking to defeat them.

The way to defeat them is in elections isn't it? Don't you need to make your point in a persuasive way to people in the middle to win elections? You tell me. I am no expert.

Conservatives outnumber the vile left 2-1. The majority of Americans don’t believe in gay marriage, socialism, atheism, and the crap-ola the left pushes on a daily basis.

Thanks for your thoughts. You mentioned atheism. It is interesting that the first and best arguments I ever heard for atheism came from Ayn Rand. I read everything she wrote when I was a teenager. She got me interested in the idea of free markets and her whole objectivist philosophy, which later lead to the libertarian party. For a while I was an atheist, largely due to Ayn Rand. I later changed my mind.

But back to your statement about the vile left. I think the politicians on both sides are pretty corrupt, but I don't think of the average liberal voter as being vile, just mistaken.

Yes, Ayn Rand was an atheist. However, she was not atheist who sought to impose secular humanism on the United States, like the criminals at the American Commie Liars Union, also known as the ACLU.

The average libs (the youngsters who wander around aimlessly in Che Guevara t-shirts and the aging Red Diaper Babies) are, at very best, brain dead drones. The ones with simian intelligence, (the so-called intelligensia and politicians) are FASCISTS. They seek to enslave their fellow man to the will of the state. They have no point of view that is even remotely worthy of respect.
