The Mythical "Good" Government Teacher Lives in the Land of Unicorns!
July 6, 2011 | wintertime

Posted on 07/06/2011 2:28:36 PM PDT by wintertime

The following applies to ALL government teachers in a GENERAL manner and is NOT NOT NOT directed at any individual here on Free Republic:

Haven't we read many times, here on Free Republic, that there are many "good" teachers in our government K-12 schools. Really? Is that so? Then how can the following be "good"?

Every day, ALL government teachers **willingly** go into government schools and **willingly** take a paycheck for teaching their students to think and reason godlessly. The government schools BY LAW are godlessly secular in their worldview. The children must learn to think and reason godlessly merely to cooperate in the classroom and do assignments.

No one is holding a gun to any government teacher's head as they work to undermine the parents and the child's faith.

Also...Let's go further. Again, how can the following be “good”?

**ALL** ( Yes! **every**!) government schools in this nation are socialist-funded, compulsory for all those whose parent's can't ransom them, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Merely by attending children learn to be comfortable with taking money from their neighbor for a service their parents want for tuition-free. Well?...If government can give “free” school, why not a thousand other wants and needs.

Why on earth would any “good” teacher agree to uphold, establish, and run a system that teaches children to be comfortable with socialism, government compulsion, and submission to the voting collectivist mob? No one is holding a gun to their heads when they do this. No one is threatening them or their families with harm as they collect their paychecks.

The TSA airport searches and the coming Death Panels are not an accident. They are a result of generations of citizens being conditioned in government schools by government teachers ( who seem so sweet and love their cats) to placidly accept government compulsion.

Yes, some Christian and/or conservative teachers will say that they are trying to sneak in some Christian and/or conservative principles into their classroom. Well! They **are** teaching an important lesson. They are teaching children that Christians and conservatives are timid and SNEAKY!

Let's use an extreme example. The Nazi concentration camps.

Would a “good” German WILLINGLY agree to work in the Nazi concentration camps because he might sneak a few crumbs to the prisoners once in a while? Or... would the **truly** “good” German join the resistance and work his guts out to help as many prisoners to escape as possible, and strive bravely and valiantly to permanently close down the concentration camps?

So... The genuinely ***good** teachers are NOT working for the godless, socialist-funded, compulsory, and voter mob managed government schools. They are working their guts out to see they are completely closed down. And...They are doing their best politically and culturally to see that children have other alternatives. They are warning parents not to send their children into the government schools.

Please remember that when you meet dear Mrs. Smilely ( the teacher who loves her cat) in church or at the supermarket, that every working day she is establishing, supporting, and upholding government schools that teach children to think godlessly, to be comfortable with taking their neighbor's money for "free" stuff, and to submit meekly to the crushing heel of the collectivist voting mob. None of that can that be "good"!

Finally....There have NEVER been "good" government schools or "good" government teachers. From their inception in the mid-1800s to early 1900s, government K-12 schools have been socialist-funded, compulsory, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Why should we be surprised that one or two generations later that we had Woodrow Wilson, the IRS, the federal reserve, unions, feminism, direct election of senators, and Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal?

Yes, the government schools, at first offered up a lukewarm and generic Protestantism. We know what Christ does with the lukewarm. He spits them out of His mouth! By my grandmother's day ( born 1894), the government schools were godlessly secular with a sprinkle of prayer in the morning.

Conclusion #1 : There is not now, and never has been even one good government school! There is not now, and never has been, a good government teacher!

Conclusion #2: If Islam takes hold in this nation, it is because government schools, like the Death Eaters, have sucked the souls out of our nation's children and their parents.

The above applies to ALL government teachers in a GENERAL manner and is NOT NOT NOT directed specifically at any individual here on Free Republic.

“I have no problem with this. I don’t want the government teaching my kids about God, that’s my job.”

But the government can teach your kids to be against God.

You can SAY whatever you like.

Even if 'all' YOUR taxes go to something you support, you still provide funds to the things you don't by freeing up moneys that would be used.

It's like saying, "Just don't put salt in MY part of the soup pot."

Well, you pay taxes to support the godless government. Does that make you evil too?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Almost nothing that the government does is religiously, culturally, or politically neutral. It is for this reason that government should be as small a reasonably possible. Can you think of something that government does that is religiously, politically, or culturally neutral? At the moment, I can’t.

Just like it is reasonable to have private supermarkets, it is completely possible to educate our nation’s children privately.

So, you provided even MORE funds for the schools to use. Hmm.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Actually, no.

In my state the schools are funded by attendance. My children did not attend, so the schools lost from a quarter of a million to nearly a half-million in funding.

That money was available to the county and state for other community projects.

What arguments?

You’re spouting incoherent ramblings with no data, no fact, no reason, and no point.

Kudos to you for homeschooling. Most people do not have the courage.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Any child who has any academic success at all already has parents that are **afterschooling**! As for homeschooling, it would be darn hard to do a worse job than our county's government schools!

My husband and I used to tutor the Spanish speaking children of our denomination. Wow! What an eye opener! The methods used to teach reading and math in my county's government schools are sooooooo nutty that I finally had to give up tutoring. It upset me too much.

I am **convinced** that if any child in our county can read and do basic arithmetic it is because his **parents**, someone in the family, friends, or neighbors taught him!

The only thing the government schools are doing is sending home a curriculum.

By the way, our county is in one of the reddest counties, in one of the reddest states, and has some of the highest test scores in the state. Those scores are **entirely** due to the hard work of the parents and children IN THE HOME!!! The government schools have little to do with it.

The following is not nonsense and should be very easy for you to answer:

Are the schools socialist-funded?

If a citizen fails to pay property taxes will their home or business be sold at auction? If they resist will they face armed police action? Are their real bullets in those guns on the hip?

Are the schools compulsory for all parents who can not find, or afford, a private school, or can not homeschool? If they resist to a sufficient level will armed police show up at their door?

Are government schools run and managed by school boards. ( School board is merely a nice way of saying collectivist voter mob.) In time they will have a nice friendly and Orwellian name for Death Panels, too.

Are government schools utterly godless in their worldview? Is anything whatsoever allowed to be taught in the framework of a child's specific religious belief with references to his scriptures and the writings of his denomination's religious leaders?

Is is “good” for any child to learn to be comfortable with any of the above?

It should take “courage” to send a child into a godless, socialist-funded, compulsory, and collectivist run government school. Sadly, most parents never give it a second thought.

So, in other words you are an anarchist.

It would be oh-so-nice if we could all just live on farms with no government.

We tried that actually, historians call that time period the dark ages.

As a Catholic you should know alllllll about original sin. Men and women and yes, you, are a sinners. Sinners sin. You sin I sin your precious wonderful absolutely brilliant home-schooled children sin too. Therefore we need a system to keep men from killing, raping and stealing. We call it government. It is not perfect and never will be. And your government free utopia will never come about either.

I would suggest, instead of this insane rambling you read Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense”. It lays out a pretty good case for why we need government in our lives and why the American system is the best one out there.

Or you could continue posting meaningless, worthless, and ineffectual posts on a website. Your call lady.

Yeah some parents spend more on high school than college and pay for their kids to get A’s and the lead part in school production of Godspell and first string of the lacrosse team.

Oh absolutely. Mrs. Smiley should be beaten, tarred, feathered and then run out on a rail. Hell, hang her cat for good measure, that'll teach her. /s

Absolutely nothing I posted suggested anything of the sort.

I can not defend a strawman of your creation. So?...If you are going to debate this issue dishonestly why should I respond to further posts?

Finally....If you are a government teacher, I know that you would **never** use manipulative strawman arguments on emotionally and intellectually immature students. To do so would be abusive.

Well....I bet there were a lot of Mrs. Smileys ( who loved their cats) working in the offices of the Nazi government regime, and managing those shoe boxes filled with Jewish names and addresses.

I have noticed that government schooling was, at one time, never questioned. Today, though, here on Free Republic and as I move through the community, that parents now justify their reason for using the government schools.

Before: My son goes to Happy Valley Elementary!

Present: I can't homeschool. We can't afford private school. I'm divorced. I have to work. I don't have the patience. I don't have patience. I'm too sick...etc....and my son is going to Happy Valley Elementary.

In time, government school teachers will no longer merely state that they work at Happy Valley government school. They too will find a justification and they ( somewhat embarrassed) will then state where they work.

I’ve worked in public schools in the past between real jobs. Not one of the teachers in any of them admitted being a union member or liberal.
