If Sarah Palin has already decided against running for president, is it callous of her to tacitly encourage the dozens of volunteers working to burnish her image? That's the "delicate question" posed by Scott Conroy after meeting some of them on a visit to Iowa. In a long dispatch from the Hawkeye State, he mentions Peter Singleton, considered by many to be the former Alaska governor's leading operative, despite the fact that he isn't officially affiliated with her, and Michelle McCormick, a 28-year-old Texas woman whose story makes me both hope and despair for the United States.
For McCormick, it all began with a letter:
An unassuming 28-year-old north Texan who works in the oil and gas industry, McCormick had experienced a family crisis similar to the one that had befallen Palin's family when the former Alaska governor's daughter Bristol became pregnant in 2008. McCormick wanted to let Palin know that how the vice presidential candidate handled the situation while in the national spotlight helped guide McCormick through her own family difficulties.
McCormick didn't harbor much hope that she would get a response, but about three weeks later she received a personal reply from Palin. Six months later, McCormick now spends every weekend (and an increasing number of weekdays) in the nation's first voting state of Iowa attending GOP Central Committee meetings, collecting names of activists in counties across the state, and doing other volunteer organizing in advance of a Palin presidential campaign that she considers inevitable. "If she was willing to take the time to respond to somebody who is a nobody in Texas, that just shows me what kind of heart she has," McCormick told RCP.....

Is it callous to encourage the volunteers? Why not ask them what they think?
Why should she give up her strategic advantage?
To make it "fair" for the RINOs and 'Rats?
No, your betters (like this elitist) know what is best for you.

Bwahahaha....Let me catch my breath.
“Dozens of volunteers”. This is like describing there are a handful of galaxies out there.
I stopped reading right there.
RUN SARAH, RUN!!!
I very seriously doubt that Palin has even one volunteer who gives even the tiniest d**m what Conor Friedersdorf thinks about anything at all.
That’s why they’re volunteers. They’re involved because they WANT to be. If they choose to move on, it’s their call, not that of some columnist at “The Atlantic.”
Another in depth investigation of Sarah Palin and the people she knows.
Imagine if they gave Obama this anal exam.
Palin supporters should NOT quit until she announces that she is not running.
The RINO’s and RATS are two wings of the same bird of prey.
Maybe her workers can go work for that winner, man of the the people, Newt Gingrich (SAC)
Hmmmm, one letter change and his name would be quite appropriate...
No doubt Sarah gets her political advice each month from the Atlantic.
Love it!
Some dope who waded into our heated political discussion last night ventured: “Why should he have to disclose anything? Bush didn’t!”
There were a few scraps of him left over for the buzzards when we were through.
...and all five readers of The Atlantic said, “Yup, yup, yup.”
It's always about something Palin did or might have done and people speculate as to why or why not. Someone is always miffed, perplexed. Rarely are any actual accusations made. It is a vacuous pursuit.
Re the countless volunteers for the Punk, Friedersdork knew that you never get in the way of an ass while he’s proving his stupidity to others. Palin volunteers have BRAINS! But, after reading this cogent, riveting piece, I WON’T be buying that clipboard, and I’ll be saving shoe leather. I’ll send my money to “Save the Ants Promptly” (STEP) After all, we really can’t know for sure that she is an amazing human being, who views herself as a servant of God, who loves America and understands the Constitution. No, not at all!
Sarah PLANTED those 24,000 pages of e-mails which seem to prove that she is exactly the person whom she portrays herself to be. But, that’s what they WANT us to believe. *wink* Bob
