Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Movie Review
Neoavatara ^ | June 29, 2011 | Neoavatara

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third in the Transformers series, is in some ways the perfect summer movie. A movie where you can turn off your brain, ignore reality, and simply enjoy sugar sweet Hollywood mayhem.

The movie starts with a basic concept: that the space race in the Cold War was focused on reaching the moon first, not for its scientific achievement, but to obtain alien technology that both the Soviets and Americans secretly knew had crashed on the dark side of the moon millenia ago. Americans, led by Neil Armstrong, get there first...but keep the information hidden.

"They rely on the ad impressions of thousands of FReepers -- "us"."

I see, so you DO click through then to see what is posted on the blog.

So why do you wish others to not do so?

I don't know about second but it dman sure breaks the top ten!

Yeah, it's one of those that I LOL ate every time I see it. ("C'mon, I've got something cool to blow up in the backyard. Let's go, c'mon")

Of course, it's still behind the BEST commercial ever

No, I know the type. Guaranteed, there are either Google or Amazon ads on that blog. Find me a blog pimp here who doesn't have ads on his blog.

I would suggest the best way to silence the problem you are referring to would to simply not comment at all. When I see an article posted with no replies I am less likely to even open it.

Why do we hear nothing from neoavatara while newheart and mad dawgg rabidly defend his (?) pimping?

I understand mad dawgs acting rabidly; but the idea of a bob newhart type doing so is amusing no end

I saw the one that had well defined characters and a coherent narrative and visual style.

Ahhh, that explains it. I saw the one filmed mostly at night, with no discernable storyline, that didn't show but glimpses of the monster.

Totally different film, same title.

Because neoavatara is a true blog pimp. He posts and runs, rarely commenting. Normally you'd think the others were sock puppet accounts set up to defend the pimp, but they are just regular FReepers. I was also somewhat confused at first when I discovered blog pimps, but I found out the truth rather quickly from the regular pimp patrol here. Maybe that's what's happening here.

Then you have OneVike, who often posts back to his blog, but also is a regular poster all around. He's a FReeper with a blog, not a blogger with a FR account for the sole purpose of promoting his blog. To me that's the defining difference between honest posting and blog pimping.

Not showing the monster is what gave it suspense. You don’t see much of the shark in Jaws either. There was a clear storyline and clear character motivation. Close Encounters was also very loose limbed story wise.

You have your opinion (enjoyable movie), I have mine (it sucked).

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

I miss the days when FReeper disagreements were settled by monkey knife fight. Sigh.

I am flattered, thanks for the compliment.

Oh, it still happens. Sometimes we even throw midgets in there. It just doesn't get posted.

I'm planning to start a blog about it.

We need more awesome blogs like that, relevant and prominent.

Blogs are the new media. Bypassing the old media in all cases.

Just like peeing in the street bypasses the sewer.

I see so then your use of "us" was just BS then. No Surprise there.

If I were going to click away from Free Republic to find out about a movie, I’d go to a known and trusted movie review site like http://www.pluggedin.com/.
