Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third in the Transformers series, is in some ways the perfect summer movie. A movie where you can turn off your brain, ignore reality, and simply enjoy sugar sweet Hollywood mayhem.
The movie starts with a basic concept: that the space race in the Cold War was focused on reaching the moon first, not for its scientific achievement, but to obtain alien technology that both the Soviets and Americans secretly knew had crashed on the dark side of the moon millenia ago. Americans, led by Neil Armstrong, get there first...but keep the information hidden.

The poster is the same person, so he has full rights to repost the work here. He's just blog pimping.
There you go; now it's more accurate.
Blogging is great. However, there are some people who use FR almost exclusively as a way to drive traffic to their blogs. Just check the posting history, and you’ll understand.
Uh HUH, I'm guessing reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Go back and reread THE ENTIRE post wherein I posted the Copyright info and see if you can get it this time.
Here is a hint, the fellow I was replying to was suggesting someone OTHER than the OP should post the entire review.
“I would research the above for the legal implications before you do post such. Or is your true purpose to get Jim Robinson and FreeRepublic.com in more legal trouble?”
Pardon me?
Are you accusing me of something?
To anyone who’s seen the movie: do they explain what happened to Megan Fox’s character?
I see. No need to get snippy.
Approximately 3% are worth anything.
The vast majority are thieves or regurgitators of old news.
Or stright-up blogpimps. Like the one who posted this thread.
You keep on supporting bloggers, though. Strike a blow for FREEDOM! And PLAGIARISM! And VIRUSES! Hoorah!
Accusing? No I asked a question. Usually an accusation is written in declarative form. Such as: "You are another one of those idiotic Blog Pimp Police who have nothing better to do than troll FreeRepublic to garner attention."
I asked a question being you posted the following:
"Someone could do it for him."
Which when read in context clearly means for someone other than the copyright holder to post the entire work on FreeRepublic. Which BTW is a clear violation of Copyright law. And Free Republic has had legal trouble with such in the past.
So with such in mind we can logically deduce either you are ignorant of the implications of Copyright law OR you are purposely trying to get Free Republic into more legal trouble?

The movie starts with a basic concept: that the space race in the Cold War was focused on reaching the moon first, not for its scientific achievement, but to obtain alien technology that both the Soviets and Americans secretly knew had crashed on the dark side of the moon millenia ago. Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and Decepticons, led by Megatron, find out about this, and race to discover the hidden treasures in the crash site.
Ultimately, one thing holds back this entire series: Michael Bay, the director. Bay is what he is fabulous at special effects and action scenes; he loves big bombs and sunset scenes. Oh, and shots of beautiful women (Megan Fox in the first two movies, and replaced by Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in this installment). But he simply lacks the ability to tell a simple, straight forward story.
The one thing going for Bay is that his a skilled cinematographer. He may be the best in the business. And the scenes of alien invasion into Chicago are breathtaking. Here is where 3D really stands out. I have said this before: I am not a huge fan of 3D filming. Other than a few examples (Avatar being the best know), live action 3D just hasnt cut it. It is stupendous in animation, but not with real people. Well, here in this movie, Bay puts his masterful skills to the test and passes with flying colors. The 3D action sequences, especially in the last hour, are what 3D filming is all about.
Other than that, this is pretty standard fare Michael Bay. Evil Decepticons want to take over the world. Good guy Autobots will do anything to stop them. Sam Witwicky (Shia Lebeouf) is our valiant geeky hero with a girlfriend way out of his league. The background characters are still varying from annoying to forgettable, and at times, we really have no idea where the story is going.
However and this is a big but the visuals are really stunning. The 3D itself may be worth the price of admission, and doubly so if you are a fan of Ms. Huntington-Whiteley (trust me). The last hour of the movie is Bay at his best: fantastic and unrealistic war scenes and explosion, as the city of Chicago gets virtually annihilated. If you like robots, like aliens, enjoy battle scenes this movie is likely for you. If you dont like any of the above, pass on this perfect example of throwaway summer sweetness.
‘Super 8’ was awesome.
“just to watch Chicago being annihilated
“Why?
I’ve never been a fan of Michael Bay and his over the top, end to end explosions or the exceedingly over-rated, no talent Shia LaBouef.
Always thought animation was the best medium for the idea of ‘Transformers’ and it even that stank out loud!
Have no idea out of money making and/or ego massaging, why this ‘series’ was brought to the big screen.
Jack.
And from JR's elaboration graciously posted by Deo. That is indeed helpful.
So I guess the question really boils down to this, if Neoavatara posts only every three or four days, and appropriately posts to the Bloggers and Personal section which was created to accommodate that sort of thing, and the Moderators have not shut him (or her) down, why is it necessary to attack them? If you don't want to click through, don't.
I would suggest the best way to silence the problem you are referring to would to simply not comment at all. When I see an article posted with no replies I am less likely to even open it.
I have heard the argument that posts like Neovatara's are bandwidth problems. But since it is just a snippet, I wonder what uses more bandwidth, the snippet or the attacks.
And HG, your statement that "approximately 3% [of blogs] are worth anything" may be true, but it is just your opinion. My kids call that a "buttstat" referring to the place from where the statistic originated. I'm sure you probably felt differently when you had your own blog. Correction, I'm sure you felt exactly the same, but no doubt you placed your own blog in the 3% of worthy blogs. And really, who could blame you for that?
Saw that last weekend. That was a horrible movie. I want my 2 hours back.
Luckily, it was a free download from some Russian "free" site so I at least didn't give money for it.
I must have seen a different 'Super 8'.
Hardly worth excerpting (7 paragraphs)
Problem is this is all he does. He posts half his review, and then NEVER replies to the thread. He’s a pure blooded blog pimp.
