The key to the ultimate effectiveness of a documentary like The Undefeated is more than just how many people see it or even who those people are. Certainly that matters to some degree, but so does how the very existence of the documentary changes the national political conversation. Naysayers of the The Undefeated dismiss the films impact by telling us that only Palinistas are going to bother to buy tickets. In other words, since the film preaches to the choir there will be no new converts. Intentionally or not, thats a fairly simplistic declaration that doesnt take into account how the film will impact the political news narrative an impact thats already apparent to anyone paying attention.
Thanks to the overwhelming publicity the film has already generated (along with the fortuitous combination of the email dump), for the first time since Palin arrived on the national scene her impressive record as the Chief Executive of Alaska is finally getting some serious media attention. Today in the Daily Caller, Rick Manning has an excellent piece that touches on this very subject. In an editorial titled Will the New Palin Movie Sway Voters?, he closes with this:
Right now, most Americans are desperate for a leader who will be unfazed by the entrenched big-government culture that pervades D.C. regardless of which political party is in charge.
Most Americans look at the crowd of Republican candidates for the presidency and yearn for someone with guts, charisma and accomplishments.

“Imagine what she could have done if she hadnt quit.”
Uhhhh She didn’t quit. She’s is attacking from a different and better position. Been doing it for nigh on 2 years now.
Next time I go into battle make sure to stay in the far rear where you can’t disrupt the efforts of those that fight and win.
She is a soldier
Astute moves, has the libs running shitless scared, and she is "not even running."
“Im all for being liberated. I just dont thank Palin will be around when it happens. Ronald Reagan never quit.”
Truth may hurt, but yes he did, he quit Lebanon after the very first causalities.
Got my letter from Sarah PAC today offering me the DVD for a $100 donation. Going to ask the Tea Party folks to pony up some help with the $100 so we can all watch it together and invite the community.
At least Sarah doesn’t grovel at the mosques, support cap and trade, and want to ban guns. Like your boy Christie,,,
The Chubster is a one trick pony,, talking tough to teachers.
The decision to leave office centers around the $500,000 in legals costs from the over 20 frivolous law suits brought against Sarah Palin. These law suits were orchestrated by operatives outside the state of Alaska and many speculate they even came from the Obama Administration.
Sarah set up a legal defense fund, calling it the Alaska Fund Trust. A team of lawyers and over 4 law firms cleared the trust and it was reviewed by law professors prior to the launch of the trust in 2009. This fund raised about $390,000. However, Palin foes argued that such a fund violated Alaska’s Ethics Act. They argued that the act prohibited public officials from using their public office for personal gain by raising funds for their legal defense. Such a fund was ruled illegal by Alaska’s Personnel Board. Sarah had to return all of the $390,000.
Of course, Sarah set up another legal defense fund. However, time was running out and bankruptcy was the next disaster for the Palin family. Bankruptcy would put her family in great danger, destroy their ability to get credit and severely limit Sarah’s political plans.
Another thing these frivolous lawsuits did was tie up Alaska’s state government in processing the necessary documents to fight the court cases. This demand on the Alaska bureaucracy was becoming a multimillion dollar cost. That was money Sarah did not want to rob from the people of Alaska.
Given my limited scope of Sarah’s legal fight, I think Sarah did the correct thing to resign. In doing so, she became even stronger and where she needs to be to destroy the Left wing menace that infects this nation.
“Im not trying to sway anyone. Im just trying to learn how Palin supporters can deal with this fact”
Probably the same way Christie supporters would deal with his being buddy buddy with Islam, the 9/11 mosque, cap and traders, and gun grabbers.
In a nation of laws and not men, a lawsuit can be a deadly weapon indeed. I am an attorney, and I personally know how debilitating a lawsuit can be. When a governor is being sued to the tune of one new suit every three weeks, the combination of the time consumed by discovery and the costs of litigation generally can rack up faster than interest on a mob loan. If one is caught in the grip of a severe legal disadvantage against a determined foe, there is very little that “creativity” can really do for you. It is so basic. You can choose between a fight you will lose as certainly as you will grow old and die, or you can seek a strategic escape, but you will pay a price there too. She had to choose between the absolute destruction of her family and her ability to govern versus the transitory embarrassment of having people like you blame her for getting professionally kneecapped by her enemies. To fault her for making the only reasonable choice a good leader could make under the circumstances, well, it would be like blaming Reagan for getting in the way of that bullet that nearly killed him. It really is utter nonsense, once you understand the facts. Like Jack Dempsey once said, champions get up when they cant. Where do you suppose he learned that?
January 27, 2011 Urban Word of the Day
person who posts on a blog thread, in the guise of "concern," to disrupt dialogue or undermine morale by pointing out that posters and/or the site may be getting themselves in trouble, usually with an authority or power.
They point out problems that don't really exist. The intent is to derail, stifle, control, the dialogue. It is viewed as insincere and condescending.
A concern troll on a progressive blog might write, "I don't think it's wise to say things like that because you might get in trouble with the government." Or, "This controversy is making your side look disorganized."
~~~~~~
In an argument (usually a political debate), a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with "concerns".
The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you're an ally. Concern trolls who use fake identities are sometimes known as sockpuppets.
In the 2006 election, an aide to Congressman Charlie Bass (R-NH) was caught concern trolling the opposition on local blogs. While pretending to support Bass's opponent, Paul Hodes, the aide argued that Hodes couldn't win because Bass was an unbeatable candidate. Hodes won the election.
Don't insult me (and others) by pretending this is some quest for honest education on the subject. You have been replied to multiple times by multiple Freepers that have addressed your issue in multiple ways and you refuse to reply in kind with anything other than a variation on, "She didn't finish the journey."
Here's the bottom line Ace: the candidate that takes on not just O and Co but the Pubbies too is the only candidate that will win. Palin has already shown more than any other candidate via her history before 2008 and since that she has and will. Oh sure others are starting the rhetoric but they are almost exclusively jumping on the bandwagon.
No she won't. She has proved she can both ignore and manipulate the press and the RINO's.
Which one are you?
Very little has been written about the complete lack of support from national Republican party leaders while Alaska and Palin fought all the frivolous complaints.
“...we have Congress and solicitor generals able to investigate wrong doing by the President...”
Sorry - that made me laugh!
And I recall listening to Palin’s speech when she resigned. It was pretty clear why she resigned, and although a bit cryptic, it was also clear that she had bigger plans on helping to steer this country in the right direction. And the 2010 elections proved fairly successfull for her in that regard as well.
I’m learning more on this thread of the stupid lawsuits. She mentioned them without ever going into details. Gifts of chocolate? Coats with logos? Obviously just done to hamstring her. I think it backfired - especially if it was not so much a local attack but an attack coordinated outside of Alaska.
After President Palin assumes office in January 2013, and the dust of the campaign has settled, this movie will become part of the story of her journey to the WH. It will be remembered for its path-breaking quality, using the wisdom of hind-sight.
That was nicely said.
