When we went out on the street and started asking people to sign a petition to ban ATM machines, we expected most of them to call us crazy or to simply ignore us. But in Barack Obama's America, banning cash machines as economic stimulus actually seems like a fairly reasonable idea to many folks.

We had a lot of people who thought it made sense to get rid of cash machines and for a variety of reasons.
Some didn't like the usage fees and concluded that the best way to get rid of the hassle was to get rid of ATM's altogether.
Other's wanted to see America return to a simpler time when we all got our money from our friendly neighborhood banker who knew your name, smiled at you and gave little Billy a lollipop after which you could hop in your horse drawn carriage and return to your candle lit home.
One woman even said that ATM machines were bad for the environment.

I was talking about this last night with my wife. Before ATMs I remember when I got my paycheck I went to the bank and deposited it less what cash I figured I needed for the week. When I bought gas I paid cash. I bought beer with cash. Lots of stuff was bought with cash.
Now my paycheck is electronically deposited into my account. And I buy most everything with a debit card. I pull up to the gas tank and swipe my card, punch in my PIN and the money is immediately taken from my account and put in the store’s account. When the store buys gasoline to replace what I just purchased it goes from the store’s account to the wholesaler’s account. And not one paper dollar has changed hands.
Where did all the cash go? I don’t even see armoured cars much anymore.
I wish some republican would find out how many jobs there are in the ATM manufacturing industry and how many people it takes to service the ATMs. But, there I go giving republicans the benefit of the doubt.
Of course the USPS anymore is just good for junk mail ! And it is almost impossible to opt out of junk mail !
How about a towel boy who gives you a towel and some TP when you go to the bathroom. I am sure Dear Leader favors this ! That would make me very uncomfortable especially when needing to do a #2 with someone in there all the time !
Concerning ATM’s, when I hit the job market in 1990, my first job, I worked a strict 8 to 5 job, no direct deposit and got a paper check. The bank I used worked from 9 to 4. Payday was the 1st and the 15th. So on a very rare occasion it fell on a Friday. I would end up dropping my check in after work in an ATM and transfer funds through it as well. Saved me from going inside or having to take time off from work.
There were a couple of times that I go on vacation and payday would fall on Monday the next week. I would get my check early with a stipulation that I could not drop it in on Friday. If I took it to a teller, on Friday, the cutoff for current day business was 6pm instead of 2:30 like on other days. Instead I dropped it in on the ATM which got processed the next Monday and its cutoff was still 3:30pm.
(Just kidding)

Go watch the video!!! LOL
But he got it half right.
Yes, they take away jobs, but they create so many more if you have the skill set. His economy would be in shambles if such productivity enhancing devices were not beng utilized in the economy to keep profit margins alive to keep companies alive.
The landscape has changed so dramatically. For example you don't need as many Tool and Die makers anymore, but when the changes were coming why didn't these guys go for CAD/CAM-FEA retraining to do their job in a different way? If they are Union Auto Working types that did it, why didn't their Union see it coming and push for retraining?
Obama wants to go back to the Carter years before all this technology, I was their it was no picnic, I don't want to go back....
D-uhr.
