Who ever thought the saying, “It’s the economy stupid” from James Carville in 1992 would become a staple in presidential elections 20 years later?
That expression made its way into the campaign in 2008 and according to Carville it could be theme of the 2012 campaign as well as President Barack Obama seeks reelection. In an appearance Monday’s “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Network, the former Clinton adviser said if improvements weren’t made in gains in the unemployment picture based on the May jobs number, it could be a rough road for the president.
“[L]ook, I don’t think anybody — if 54,000 new jobs is the new standard, it’s going to be a very, very rough 2012 for President Obama,” Carville said. “But three-month average was 160,000. If that is the case, then he will do OK. I can’t tell you what will happen. But yes, if this, if this last jobs number is an indication of future job numbers, it’s going to be very, very rough.”
Carville cited a 2009 book by Carmen M. Reinhart and Kenneth Rogoff called “This Time Is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly.” According to the book, the current economic situation, as with similar crises of this magnitude, take time to work themselves out and there’s little Obama may be able to do.

Well it would seeem that at least one plan is working.
In the past week, I have talked with friends and associates who all believe that a storm is brewing, and brewing fast.
The most laid back and apolitical people I know are scared and taking steps to prepare.
I see a stock market crash, rioting in big cities like Chicago and LA, and violence unlike anything we have ever seen. I can envision martial law and the seizing of bank accounts, private property and detainments.
I have printed your preparedness manual and have begun to implement food and medicine storage. My gun is with me everywhere I go.
Many Americans won’t know what to do. I am scared, and pray hard that God will save my country.
I agree totally. Too many people, even conservatives, are too affected by normalcy bias to admit that could happen.
I think the left is waiting to see if the GOP is united by a true conservative candidate, or split by the nomination of a RINO and conservatives going third party.
If the GOP nominates a true conservative like Palin what you suggest is VERY likely to happen. Soros has crashed economies before. If the welfare class stops getting it’s free ride, we will se something like the Rodney King LA riots go nationwide.
They don't really understand flyover country people, however, who aren't in the mood to cower and whimper.

Or this would be a threat to easily-intimidated voters: "if Obama loses, expect riots and all you honkies will get your homes burnt down, so you better vote Obama if you know what's good for you".
I would also expect to see cases of intimidation at polling places, like we saw in Philly in 2008.
Is it possible imminently or is it eminently possible? Inquiring minds want to know.

If violence erupts in the cities, I would agree that is a very likely possibility. I don't live in an urban area, but my daughter does. She thinks I am something of a tinfoil hat guy, but since she owns a couple of handguns and a shotgun I insisted that I give her extra boxes of shotgun shells. She is ex cop, so I have no doubt she will not hesitate to defend herself when the SHTF.
There will be serious consequences for anyone that thinks he can take my property or threaten my family.
There are a lot of well armed people in this country. They've been taking grief for a long time. If most of them conclude that the authorities can't or won't keep order, there could be a very explosive backlash.
I guess one thing that alarms me is that I half wonder if there aren't a fair number of those on the left (including DC ruling class) that would like to see widespread civil disturbances.
I know that I'm pi$$ed off and I'm sure that there are many, many others who are unemployed, but no longer counted and who have exhausted their benefits and who are at the end of their rope. Couple that with the uneven enforcement and non-enforcement of laws by Holder's inJustice Dept., the daily unconstitutional actions by Janet Incompetano and the Dept of Homeland Security, the TSA goons, etc. and you've got a tinderbox ready to ignite.

Most conservatives that we know are ready for such a day. Pray it doesn’t come to that.

The entire nation is being held hostage because urban liberals are afraid of their own shadows. A large part of what they claim to be compassion is nothing else but bribing the barbarians, foreign and domestic.
