That average monthly benefit of $133.24 for 44.199 million people will help with the purchase of one third of a very edible iPad. Food stamp participation chart presented without further commentary.
IMHO I’d go farther. If you are collecting any benefits you forfiet your right to vote.I also think when it comes to cuts that Foodstamps should be one of the first looked at the eliablity amounts are much too high judging by what I see most of them buying in the store.
I have never seen a cell phone be cheaper anywhere than a landline. Even the trackphone cost mre than muy landline does.
Here in Ohio they used to offer landlines to welfare recipiants for something like $12 a month. Not sure if they still do but that is much cheaper than any cell phone is.
Then this thread reminded me of an item on today's morning news shows:
Governor Rick Scott is calling for mandatory drug testing for anyone and everyone receiving government assistance. And they pay for the test.
And if they fail the drug test, they no longer receive assistance.
And if they pass, they will be reimbursed for the test.
Have you not been in th grocery store watching a woman with a cart full of Mt Dew checking out and using kher EBT card? They are easy to spot they are usually the ones with a separate cart of nothing but cases pop.
“I think anyone who receives welfare should not be allowed to have cell phones.”
You’ve got to be kidding! The GOVERNMENT (aka American taxpayers)give them the phone and minutes every month for FREE. You take that entitlement away and there will be a lot of mad mamma’s running around!
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
“Youve hit on a real sore spot of mine...absolutely beautiful young girls, 18, 20 yrs. old, who go and mutilate themselves with tattoos and multiple facial piercings. What on earth could they have been thinking?”
In another 10 or 20 years down the road those tat’s look anything but nice. I see old ladies with them in stores and it looks like pure trash.
My cell phone costs $7/month. Seven. If I use more than that for calls, I just have to add funds, but seven is the minimum. Pretty sure the surcharges and taxes of a land line cost more than that per month.
I did a search and several people have asked if this receipt is real. Do you know if it is real? Thanks in advance.
I agree 100%. Been sayin’ for years that this would go a long way towards fixing many things!
