Check this out. Your tax dollars at work!
(Excerpt) Read more at beforeitsnews.com ...
DO you have an actual point, or are you just pissing on your shoes again?
Your stupid posts speak for themselves.
They are real good at working the computer betting machines at the Dog Track on the 3rd of every month.
>>Stephen Ramirez, another district attorney’s investigator, said Towns told him she chose welfare fraud to support her family because it was safer than prostitution or drug dealing—the only other means of earning money she felt were available to her.<<
Of course getting an honest job wasn’t something to be considered because they didn’t pay enough.
I have some real nice Swampland for sale.
The scary thing is, that expense is only the tip of the iceberg. For every dollar that actually gets to a welfare recipient, 3 or 4 is leached by the bureaucracy. In other words, $423 or $564 was originally ripped from a hard-working person to pay for that bill.
Well, I guess you dislike me, but why not be a grown-up for once and tell me exactly what you don’t like about my comment.
I’d like to know where you got a giant sized box of Rice Krispies for $1.25. They’re almost $4 at WalMart here in South Carolina for the 24 oz box.
I shop sales. That was at Safeway.
Amazing, with evolution, Water Buffalos now eat Lobster.
This receipt is from a store in Michigan. Last I knew, Michigan had a 6% sales tax with certain exemptions on food, but I thought soda pop didn’t qualify.
Post of the day....
Yeah, I'm doing it wrong, that's for sure...all this work i've been slaving away at all these years.
True. MOst don't want to mess up and lose their cash cow bennies. they are at least that smart.
Sorry but if you are on food stamps you should be using them wisely so one can get through the whole month and celebrations do not fit into that criteria.
I used to work in a grovery store years ago and this is nothing new.I can remember the first time I saw someone buy a prebought and decorated birthday cake from the bakery for over $30 (this was 30 years ago) and being flabergasted they could be allowed to do that with food stamps.I also remember being yelled at by someone on foodstamps about why they couldn’t buy hot food that was ready to eat with them like it was my fault.I calmly told her it was the law and I had nothing to do with it but that wasn’t good enough she still thought I was being racist.*eyeroll*
That would be fraud in my state; household income would disqualify. And they do prosecute.
Not necessarily. They all have found the way to cheat is to state that they are ‘roommates’. That way the other person’s income does not count.
I was an elegibility worker in another life.
Ok, you make a good point, but I would counter that with this:
The point of welfare is not to spend your money like an idiot until it all runs dry and you get the next month’s check. The point of welfare is to help out when you are in a temporary slump. Yet when people go around blowing their government hand-outs on Lobster and Steak, how will they ever pull out of the slump? They won’t. They’ll stay poor and on food stamps. It’s a way of life for them. They will remain in the system and suck up more and more tax payer dollars, instead of doing the right thing by using the money wisely to get themselves out of a bad situation.
So I guess in the short term these situations don’t hurt the tax payers in the short term. However, over the long term it does; because these people remain in the system, spending money like morons and still expecting more....
but then again, these leeches have no intention of changing, so maybe it really doesn’t affect tax payers any more than it already did.
ugh!
As of Oct. 1, 2008, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The new name reflects the changes weve made to meet the needs of our clients, including a focus on nutrition and an increase in benefit amounts.
SNAP is the federal name for the program. State programs may have different names.
The 2002 Farm Bill restores SNAP eligibility to most legal immigrants that: Have lived in the country for 5 years; or Are receiving disability-related assistance or benefits, regardless of entry date; or Starting 10-1-03, are children regardless of entry date.
Certain non-citizens such as those admitted for humanitarian reasons and those admitted for permanent residence are also eligible for the program.
Eligible household members can get SNAP benefits even if there are other members of the household that are not eligible. (See Policy on Immigrants for information on qualified alien categories and eligibility)
Non-citizens that are in the U.S. temporarily, such as students, are not eligible.
A number of States have their own programs to provide benefits to immigrants who do not meet the regular SNAP eligibility requirements. For a table of those programs, see State Programs.
you’re right.
There is no conservative like a liberal that has been mugged
