(Herman Cain) I’m in it to win it
Daily Caller ^ | 5/22/11 | Herman Cain

Posted on 05/23/2011 2:42:44 AM PDT by markomalley

“Just to be clear, I’m running for president of the United States of America, and I’m not running for second place.”

That was my announcement on Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park. It was a high noon event with over 15,000 of my closest friends in attendance!

I wanted to be very clear of my intentions because of the three usual reservations expressed by skeptics about a “dark horse” candidate winning the Republican nomination for the presidency. Name recognition, money and not being a previous officeholder are the usual negatives pointed out by political pundits.

My name may not be a household name, but it is a grassroots-recognized name. Just consider the number of straw polls in which I have placed first in the last few months. The Tea Party Patriots Summit in Phoenix, the Conservatives Values Conference hosted by Congressman Steve King in Des Moines, Iowa, multiple state Republican Party conventions, and most recently an online Fox News survey following my official announcement on Saturday.

Now, my performance in the recent South Carolina presidential debate was not a straw poll, but by most accounts I was viewed most favorably by a majority of those who saw that exchange, as well as by the members of Frank Luntz’s on-air focus group.

We could do a lot worse. Newtie, Ron Paul etc. etc.
I like what he says. I don't know much about him and I don't want the MSM telling me about him.
Right now he gets my vote.

1). IGNORE (Media Blackout, Left out of Poll Results, etc)

2). Ridicule.

3) Nay-say ("Hasn't a Chance")

4) Attack Fiercly (This will come in the "feer" phase, when candidate's inroads become apparant and support is groundwell)

5) Accept Legitimacy of Candidacy and be forced to report.

This will be the predictable pattern with both the US MSM (and detractors of Herman here who wish to promote their own candidates--which is understandable. May not be fair, but perfectly understandable and predictable.

It will be the microcosm of the Tea Party movement itself. Bet the farm on it.

I expect that the MSM, Commiecrats, Atheists, and Beltway RINOs will soon go into full-attack mode. Herman Cain threatens their power in so many ways, they must destroy him.

“Herman Cain threatens their power in so many ways, they must destroy him.”

Hermain Cain will be called an Uncle Tom, an “Oreao” and will be accused of not doing enough to help the Black community.

That’s because, to the race pimps and their whores in the media, jobs don’t count: only handouts count.

That’s why they love the Community Organizer in Chief, because “community organizer” is just a euphemism for a “gimme pimp”.

Herman Cain was (GASP!) an entrepreneur whose efforts created thousands of jobs. That doesn’t sit well with the gimme pimps, their clientele, and their fellow-traveller commrades in the commie press.

The commie media isn’t interested in reporting the truth. They don’t need no “stinkin facts”.

I think the WH and MSM will ignore him as long as they can. They do not want to deal with Cain and do not want to elevate him. Once he gets traction (if he does), then they will unleash a Palin/Clarence Thomas-like vicious attack to try and destroy him. If he survives that, he is a contender, and can be a Reagan-like force for good in our country.

Cain’s campaign is now at ‘3’ and soon to move into ‘4’ status.

Agreed.

He should get a quick set of cliff’s notes from John Bolton on foreign policy as a backup though.

In fact...Bolton would be a great VP for Cain.

“I betcha a LOT of his employees at Godfather’s were black...”

The lame stream media does not recognize employed Black people...only the unemployed.

He definitely needs to get stronger on foreign policy, but so do most presidential candidates every cycle. The last guy coming in with real hands-on experience in foreign policy leadership was GHWB, before that? I don’t event know. Maybe Eisenhower.

Cain does need to demonstrate preparation to handle this important part of the job. My two cents, this election is about the economy. Few will go to the polls with a priority of foreign policy issues.

He seems less political and more serious about the country. Only issue, from what little I’ve heard so far, is his lack of concern about the FED and their transparency. He doesn’t think there is an issue there and to audit the FED is a waste of time.

The left is predictable. They’ll be hammering Cain only after he rises in polls. Otherwise stick to their nobody is worth in the GOP field talk and bashing Romney, Newt or Pawlenty. But, they seem to be just waiting to see what happens after Trump and Palin faded away a little bit.
