They’re Back…Moore and Olbermann Together Again!

IS THIS A MARRIAGE MADE IN ‘HEAVEN,’ OR WHAT?

When Keith Olbermann was fired resigned from MSNBC last year, it broke a little piece of my conservative blogger’s heart.

No longer would I be able to sit down at the computer and read the latest article about something hysterical that Olbermann, or one of his socialist guests had ranted about the night before. The best stories were always the ones that included video; Olbermann or one of the looniest of loons spewing vitriolic hatred was all it took to warm the cockles of my right-wing heart. It was always extra “special,” as Dana Carvey’s church lady used to say, when a Countdown guest was just as bitter and loathing of America as was our pal Keith.

Nobody fit that description more – in my humble opinion – than did Michael Moore. (Apologies to Janeane Garofalo and Howard Dean.) This was a marriage made in socialist heaven; a classic example of 1 + 1 = 3. (Although in Moore’s case, it was more like 5 or 6.)

Fear not my gun and bible clinging friends: Not only does Olbermann’s new program debut on Al Gore’s Current TV next month; the network announced this week that the vitriolic Moore will be joining our pal Keith as a regular contributor!

Said Olbermann: ”I’m delighted and honored that so many of my comrades friends will be joining me as contributors to ‘Countdown’ on Current. I hope these talented individuals, and the others we are to announce in these weeks before the premiere on June 20 will give viewers a sense of the strength and depth of the franchise we’re assembling.” Strength and depth? Interesting choice of words.

In anticipation of the return of left-wing America’s Laurel and Hardy, here are a few of Moore’s recent comments to wet your right-wing whistle:

“There was no bloodlust euphoria on the day Timothy McVeigh was executed. We were silent. The families of the Oklahoma City dead were silent, relieved. What is the difference between McVeigh and bin Laden, other than the number they slaughtered?

“We profiled people from Muslim nations at airports. We didn’t profile multi-millionaires. In fact, they now have their own fast-track line to easily get through security – an oddity considering every murderer on 9/11 flew in first class.”

“There’s a gullible side to the American people. They can be easily misled. Religion is the best device used to mislead them.”

“Should such an ignorant people lead the world? How did it come to this in the first place? 82 percent of us don’t even have a passport! Just a handful can speak a language other than English.”

“White people scare the crap out of me.” (All white people Michael, or just the ones that work at McDonalds and Burger King?)

By the way, Olbermann, who says, ”Obama is unpopular because he hasn’t fully embraced leftism,” also claims he’s not a left-winger: ”I’m not a liberal, I’m an American. My point of view is about delivering information and context. It has nothing to do with a political point of view.” (Uh huh Keith, and Al Sharpton’s not a race-baiter either.)

During one of the final weeks of Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MNBC, the Philadelphia Daily News tallied the numbers of politically “left,” “right,” and “neutral” guests on each episode of Countdown and Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor:

The O’Reilly Factor welcomed 20 guests from the right, 11 from the left and seven who were neutral.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann had 20 guests from the left, two neutral and not a single voice from the right. Zero voices of dissent.

There you have it folks – I can’t wait for the festivities to begin.

Sadly, unlike Uranium, high concentrations of stupid cannot achieve criticality, or the flux density of imbecility with these two in the same studio would rid the world of this problem once and for all.

It’s so nice when the vermin are concentrated in one place. Makes it so much easier to avoid them.
